2012 PJ Euro Tour and U.S. show poster thread

It's that time again all you poster freaks. I'm creating a thread to keep track of all the awesome (and not so much) poster art that will be for sale at all the Pearl Jam shows this year. I've done this before and it's worked out nicely where I'll update the original post with the posters and artists as they come out. Feel free to post pics and discuss what your thoughts are of each one. :D

    I like Jeff Soto a lot but he REALLY likes his owls. This one reminds me of this Soundgarden poster quite a bit.

    This print is a collaboration between Tara McPherson and myself- it is the opening night of the tour and the first in a series of artist collabs! This poster project was passed back and forth between us several times and we came up with what we think is a pretty interesting and different take on Pearl Jam. Stay tuned for sales info....

    Love the Manchester poster. Wonder if that's why Jeff was asking folks on FB about what Manchester is known for? :mrgreen:

    I wouldn't necessarily hang this on the wall in my house....but I do like that it's more like a gig poster you would have seen stapled to electrical poles or taped to store windows back in the day....

    I think they did a good job with the first two posters.
    I absolutely love Jeff Soto's work and that second one is absolutely unique!

    Umm...I disagree. With the terrible poster comment, that is.

    I think people have forgot what a poster is supposed to be. Especially a date specific poster.

    With a band like PJ and and opening band like X, this is actually a fitting gig poster. The prettiest? No. But awful? There should be a forum for fans to create their own posters for these shows. I'd like to see how they measure up.

    Bit of a random question......

    I'm off to the Amsterdam shows next week and will more than likely be buying posters, just wondering if anyone knows what the deal is with carrying a poster tube in your hand luggage on a plane? I'm not checking any luggage in, so I need to be able to get it in my hand luggage some how.....Any advice?

    I'm just a bit concerned about the size. To be fair I could cut the tube down before I go, they're usually way too long - knowing my luck the Amsterdam prints will be some random monster sized ones though!

    It looks like the venues are selling tubes, so you can purchase one there and avoid carrying it to Amsterdam.

    As long as you just have a carry on, you usually can have a personal item (poster tube). I did coming back from PJ20. For the most part, I fly Delta.

    I love Manchester Night 1 print by Jeff & Tara. Night 2 on the other hand, I don't have a feeling for it. Maybe cause I don't care about the Queen of England or just there is too much things happening in that image.
