Dennis Kucinich joins—Fox News?


Outspoken liberal Dennis Kucinich has found a new home—at the Fox News channel.

Yes, you read that right.

Following his forced retirement from Congress, the former Ohio Democratic congressman has signed on with Fox News to be a contributor, the network announced Wednesday.

“I’ve always been impressed with Rep. Kucinich’s fearlessness and thoughtfulness about important issues," Roger Ailes, Fox News' chairman and CEO, said in a statement. "His willingness to take a stand from his point of view makes him a valuable voice in our country’s debate."

Kucinich noted that throughout his career, the network—popular with conservatives—has given him a place to air his views. "Through 16 years in Congress and two presidential campaigns, FOX News has always provided me with an opportunity to share my perspective with its enormous viewership," he said.

Kucinich, a former mayor of Cleveland, was first elected to Congress in 1996. He ran twice for president—in 2004 and 2008—and lost his bid for re-election to Congress in the 2012 primary to Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur, whom he faced due to redistricting.

Why? I think you're misinformed about Fox. They have a few left leaning "pundits." Certainly a greater % than other channels have balance. Obviously, they are more right leaning, but they consistently put "opposing" views on.

But, in a situation where it becomes clearer every day that this President is in WAY over his head, I think you'll see more and more of the Democrats "seeking shelter." Just wait until a year from now when all those at risk Senate seats that were gained in traditional Republican strong holds in 2008 are coming up for re-election.

He needs work. It's embarrassing, but he needs work. And besides, being a progressive liberal contributer does nothing but show that Fox is attempting to seem more "fair and balanced" even though we all know they never will be. He'll be nothing more than a punching bag for Fox.

You knew this was coming. Any Liberal that went on Fox HAS to be pigeon holed. He can't just be willing to debate vs. the opposition (and perhaps, even agree with them occassionally).
