Banjo question

anyone know who makes a good banjo...besides of course gibson (i don't want to break the bank)??

  • Epiphone makes them, Fender, Washburn also makes them. I have an Alvarez.
    I think the Fender burns better than a Gibson! ( Wait a minute, sorry, that's something to do with a cello joke!) : )
    I also have an old Kay banjo. You can find them cheap sometimes.
    Look at Stewart Macdonald site. Stewmac.com . They make kits. Easy to make.

    thanks, i'll probably go with a fender...and anyways if you play teh banjo you're a hobo so you need something cheap and with a little bit a guts...
  • Absolutely, the cheaper and rattlier and looser the parts , the better it sounds! Beer helps ,too If you want something even weirder, find a banjo-mandolin. It is the cutest funkiest fun thing to play.
