Yeah I guess that's what happens. I dunno, I'm of the belief that Trump (and by extension, the GOP and Fox News) is driving people insane. It's not just people yelling at the Tucker Carlsons of the world in restaurants. It's people banging on the doors of the Supreme Court after Kavanaugh was confirmed. It's people making death threats towards the rabbi in Pittsburgh for welcoming Trump. Think about that. A rabbi has 11 people murdered in his synagogue, and people are sending him death threats. Why? Because Trump called him and asked to visit and the rabbit said yes. I understand that Trump only wants to visit to be portrayed as compassionate and he's a total asshole for that. I get it. But sending death threats to the rabbit for allowing his visit? Those people that made those threats have been driven insane by Trump. And that's what he wants.
Trump is not the cause of the madness, he's the most obvious symptom.
Nah. That sounds good and all, but he's the cause of plenty of it too.
At the very least he is complicit in that he exploited this horribleness to get to the White House.

Only for people who weren't aware of what Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Lahren, etc have been doing for the last 30 years.
Trump is just Limbaugh's work come to fruition.

Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, and Lahren were never the President. That makes a big difference in terms of the effect upon the general public goes, not to mention on foreign leaders and how the rest of the world views America.

Yeah, it's a big deal, but I stick with my analogy.  Trump is a symptom of the radical right wing cultism of the early Cold War that's been stirred back to life since the 80's.
The mindsets produced by the red scare have been rekindled slowly through the weird mix of phony Christianity, voodoo economic worship, racism, and nostalgic fear that we have grown accustomed to in the conservative movement.  It's finally penetrated the highest levels of the Republican party.

    Not yet, anyway.

While in many ways, Trump is a symptom, when he has the stage he says and says the incendiary things he does, yes, he's responsible.

There's wide-ranging speculation from McConnell is asking Murdoch not to (ostensibly because indictments incoming) to protesting for the way that twitter has treated Tucker Carlson (or how he's been treated on twitter?).

None of the ideas are new except for maybe abolishing ICE, which I’m not sure they actually believe in, being faux news and all and which I don’t agree with. But nice to see Faux viewers are so easily scared because legislation usually passes 4-431 and skips the senate entirely. Quick, go out and buy another gun.

When you say "Quick, go out and buy another gun," it's consistent with a lot of your posts that paint you as a liberal caricature that the Fox (or Faux) News commentators use to rile up their viewers. I know, I know: those viewers are just bible-thumping, gun-toting, Trump-loving idiots so to hell with them. But you're a poster-child of everything that the Sean Hannitys of the world LOVE: a condescending liberal that can be painted as an "elitist" to his viewers.

Interesting response to the CNN suit from Fox.

Because facts don’t bear me out? Because the repubs consistently strike fear in their base’s hearts by promoting fear of the other or the mad libs are coming to take your guns away and give free stuff to the “other.” At least my caricature is based in fact. Clinging to their guns and religion is not far off the mark.

Or free college for that matter. I don't want to be too critical of them though. Halifax may accuse me of being scared of strong, liberal, non-white women.

Yeah but where you would say they (conservatives) cling to their guns and religion, they would say you (liberals) are lazy and want everything for free. I personally hate those sort of generalizations. Obviously.....you and I are on different pages on that.

What's this "would" nonsense?  They say it.  Constantly.  Probably more than we do.  This is an echo chamber so you see a lot more of the unfair comments from us pinkos, but go into a right-wing echo chamber, or hell, just go into Twitter, and you'll see that "they" are throwing that shit around like crazy.

the problem is that with many conservatives is that no matter what the liberal say or so they will always say that.  Just look at Obama.

that was his point. he said "would" on both sides. I have to agree with ledbetterman on this one. I think the generalizations are tired and not helpful to the general discussion.

So, if being a liberal elitist means being more inclusive, making healthcare and education affordable, or god forbid fee, having sensible gun laws, helping those less fortunate, including immigrants, and seeing more women and minorities in positions of power, whether elected or otherwise, and stamping out discrimination based on gender, sexual preference, race, etc. then I proudly wear the "liberal elitist" label. I have no interest in going back to the 1950's and I don't believe white males are an endangered species or deserve special protection. $1.5 trillion to corporate elitists who didn't and don't need it. When will the gun owners drive the change that we need to see? The NRA should be out of business by now and their elected representatives out of office. But, you know, fear.

Actually, according to Drudgy, they're coming over the border where the troops aren't. Will anyone dare criticize Team Trump Treason for his strategic blunder?
