Early-2019 will see 5 years since last Australian/New Zealand tour. I believe they will let the album drop, then do Australia, as per pattern of coming down early in the cycle, and always on an album cycle. 2014 was a Big Day Out festival tour followed by EV solo. 2009 was stadiums, middle of Summer, fucking hot. But a great line-up with Liam Finn and Ben Harper & Relentless7. I think we'd love to see arena shows again, with a solid support. They have never toured during our Winter, so crossing fingers for early 2019.
PJ - Sydney 1998; Sydney 2003; Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle 2006; Melbourne, Sydney 2009; Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney 2014.
EV - Canberra, Newcastle, Sydney 2011; Sydney 2014.

I get the feeling the album's not done, so I don't think it can drop, and they have a touring following it.  I think the amount of time it'll take to complete the new album is still an unknown?
  • Anybody think there will be any news this Tenth of Nov.? I doubt it but you never know.

I would not expect any tour news anytime soon. We have zero info on the new album and when it will drop. Tour news will start to trickle in after that. I think there is an outside shot at Eddie doing a mini solo tour in NA in the spring but also would not be surprised if Arizona is a one off.

Expected but vastly depressing. I guess their average output of 18 shows a year is too much. Im concerned there is an issue, health perhaps.

Most significantly, Pearl Jam should not have used the word forthcoming regarding their new album 8 months ago. That word has a specific meaning and it was not a representative statement from the band.

I doubt it is health, but rather motivation/drive to tour.  It isn't like they have slowed down just in the last couple years.  They pretty much have kept the same tour schedule since 2007.  People think 2013 was a big year but that was a big year for Pearl Jam touring, and an average/small year for most bands.

My wife just said to me, “ I really want too see Pearl Jam soon.”  My god pj,  play some shows!!!!
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......
  • What’s amazing to me is they don’t seem to care about playing live much anymore. The Rolling Stones are about to announce their 4th US tour in 2019 since 2013. On top of two Europe tours. They play 30 minutes less a show. I went to Europe last year and saw both the Stones and PJ. Not too mention the 20 year age gap.  I don’t know how you can ever get tired of playing in front of thousands of people. But that seems to be where this band is these days. Thankful for the old days but those are long gone. Approaching 6 years without an album and no desire to properly “tour” unless it fits in with vacation and baseball plans. They may do one more real tour whenever the album is done, but after that I wonder what they have left. I never wanted to see them do a residency but I’d take it right now.

I don't think we're getting a tour this year. Maybe a couple one off dates for some special events but I'm guessing they'll hold off till the album drops to increase demand.

Soon. I'd think within a week. Sounds like Rose Bowl, San Fran, Seattle, Philly may be potential locations as well. To keep this PJ related, maybe they could at least make an appearance in Seattle as an opener. Kidding, sort of.

Thanks! That’s awesome! Last few times we’ve seen them, we’ve had to travel (Desert Trip, Anaheim). Very much looking forward to seeing a show close to home!

People need to relax.  They’ve been chipping away on a new record for the better part of the last year and it will likely be out in 2019.  No one knows when, but when it does come out, there will likely be shows.
Holds for the 2013 tour didn’t start leaking until April or May.  Just because there are no rumours in November doesn’t mean there will not be shows next year.

Unless they are playing shows in January or February, a North American tour announcement would be still be months away

2016 was October 2015. Yes there is plenty of time for a tour and rumours to come in for 2019 but with no album rumours trickling in I have to admit I am starting to really think 2019 will be a light year especially when 2 out of the last 6 months of the year are no tour months.
  • Given Eddie's solo gig and given the current month, I'd be shocked if we see anything with the band before April or May.

But I'm still hoping for a small USA thing similar in size to USA 2010 or USA 2014 happening in late spring.

I just completed a survey for the Avenir Centre in Moncton after going to see Jack White last night. It asked me what 3 bands I would like to see come to the venue. I put Pearl Jam down 3 times. Pretty sure this is a good sign for a show there in 2019.

Thanks for everyone's comments.  I doubt it would be a new solo record because the band is working on a record.
true, but wasn't the bulk of Uke Songs recorded years before and some of his peers convinced him over many years to release it? I could also see him recording stuff on his own at home during the band's downtime. who knows how much time PJ has actually spent together recording. i would imagine EV has a lot of free time on his hands to do his solo stuff. he apparently recorded a full soundtrack to Out of the Furnace that we are "never going to hear".

Okay so here's a question for any experts out there:  does the Innings news suggest an EV solo tour, a PJ tour, or no tour?
I'm hoping it means new solo record.
Here's hoping it's Guitar Songs and not Ukulele Songs 2.
I like Uke Songs, but I get what you are saying.

Not too sure if I agree with the 2013 one. It might be the worst of leg 1. However, 2003 and 2010 are excellent.

Call me crazy but when I read this I interpret that PJ is planning a 3 day festival in 2019
