No, you guys dont get it. I'm aware what happened on Tuesday. I said nothing about confederate statues, or boomers. I fully understand demographics and its impact moving forward. Demographics is destiny and all that jazz.

I'm still tackling the issue of why people assume Trump won. Without understanding that, it's bound to repeat. And maybe we can stop demonizing half the country in the process.

Trump did not win because of Putin, racism, sexism, facebook, xenophobia, homophobia, or any other ism or phobia.

Black voter turnout dropped 7% in only 4 years and union support cratered in the sane time, especially in the midwest. Who's fault is that besides the Democratic Party? You dont need a study. You dont need a degree in statistics or political science. I dont need the ACLU, or a calculator.
    Nope.

You’re just cherry picking things you want to respond to and are not really wanting to have an honest discussion about this.

I’m not a member of the democrat party and I never said Trump won solely because of the things you’re saying here. Let me know when you want to have a real discussion about this.

    Thanks.
I've been a Democrat since you were a registered Republican... minorities and union labor have been the bread and butter base of the party for decades... that support dropped significantly in 2016. It's really not that complicated. I'm not interested in discussing 2018, that was predictable.

If blacks and union households dont show up in 2020, they will lose in the midwest again and lose the electoral college AGAIN, just as BS said. And i dont care how many suburban white women with a college degree vote, it wont matter if the historical base doesnt show up.

Gee, what else happened in 2016? And what else happened from 2008 to 2016? Hmmm, let me check my calculator. Oh, it says the black guy didn’t run in 2016. Oh, what else? Let me call the ACLU. Guess what they said? Repub held states, Wisconsin under walker, Ohio under Kasich and other repub states waged war against unions. As did businesses. So, union membership nationwide dropped, as it has since Raygun (remember PATCO?) If your union membership remained static from 2008 to 2016 and what you posit were true, then I’d get it. But it’s not so simple. Join us.
Incorrect... the union household support numbers arent looking at total number of union votes, which would be affected by the assault you mention, it is looking strictly at the % of support in union households, which dropped dramatically... under your scenario the support % should have likely gone up because there was simply less union households and as you said, they have been under attack.

2nd point... if less blacks voted in 2016 simply because the black guy wasnt on the ballot, isn't that a form of voter racism? Again, considering the historical context I'm not gonna go there, but i think a lot of people would argue the point. People love to blame racist whites for Trump winning, but nobody wants to point out the obvious that blacks simply didnt go to the polls because Hillary was white and resulted in the Trump win? Why is that? Nobody on msnbc talking about that? Doesnt fit the media sensationalist narrative of white racism and bigotry? I will repeat this for everyone, black voter turnout DROPPED 7%, in an election with record turnout, and HRC lost 2 states by less than 1% combined...

Trump didn't cheat, Hillary lost. It's plain as day in the data

See why we still have to talk about 2016?
The election hinges on 66,000 votes in 3 key states. 6-7MM previous Obama voters went Team Trump Treason or “not Hillary” based on fear of the “other” and immigrants. Hillary won 3MM more popular votes. It’s 2018 and the only one around here talking about Hillary is you. Get out of 2016.

So black turnout is down because a black guy isn't on the ballot.  And you ask if that's voter racism?  Are you saying that blacks are racist against themselves?  What in the wide world of sports are you even saying?  The coalition has changed.  Union households are dwindling.  Older union members have gravitated to anti-free trade.  White collar, younger people are overwhelmingly liberal.  30 years ago they were conservative.  Have you given a lick of thought about how that will affect the Republicans next cycle, and the next 2 cycles after that?

Someone earlier got it right..  you want to re-litigate 2016 but not interested in discussing how 2018 changed that narrative.  Okay, great.  If you want to have a history discussion on elections, I'm all about that on a new thread.  I'd like to kick if off by discussing the Corrupt Bargain.  Jackson got shafted, you know it, I know it, but the libs here just can't admit it.  DISCUSS!

I’d be willing to bet black turnout was higher in FL and GA the other day. Wonder why? Never mind because I see the Dems energized and running solid candidates. There’s no reason why they can’t run the same at the top of the ticket in 2020. But I head Hillary has all the super delegates locked up and the major money donors committed.

You seem to be referring to not only Hillary but Gore and Kerry but mentioning that the last 3 times the R’s won the presidential election that they “cheated”.

Do you really believe that? That the R’s only win when they cheat?

Yes, they can’t win on policy debate. Look at 2000 in FL and Ohio in 2004. Why is Team Trump Treason still claiming that there was no Russian interference in the 2016 election? Why is Team Trump Treason making accusations of voter fraud in FL with no facts to bear? Fear and cheating, it’s all they got. And not every election or race but in the most high profile, most important races, presidential, or key states, just enough to win.

There's nothing wrong with the dem message. But there's something wrong when ballots go missing or get "lost." There's something wrong when there's long lines at the polls in dem leaning districts and voters breeze through the polls in repub districts. There's something wrong when voting machines show up without power cords. There's something wrong when repub held states make proving your identity to vote as difficult as possible and selectively enforce it. There's something wrong when a voting place in a housing project has their voting machines show up 2 hours after the polls open and where the majority of voters assigned to that polling place are working poor and have to go to work. There's something wrong when dark money tweets that you can vote from home on your phone, or the wrong date is put on fliers and distributed in dem leaning districts, or nursing home residents are turned away after driving to a polling place for early voting. It happens time and time again. I'd like everyone who is legally allowed to, to be able to vote and have their vote counted, regardless of party. Stop fucking with the vote and win on vision, ideas and policy. We need the UN to monitor our elections and we're supposed to be promoting democracy around the globe. Florida is following the law and Team Trump Treason is on TV undermining the process in the absence of facts. That's a problem.

I was taught that there’s no such thing as a stupid question. And he forgot Melania on his way to the helicopter and had to circle back and get her, after insulting a female reporter who asked a relevant, pertinent question. Guilty.
Sorry for you but your teacher or parent was just trying to not make you feel bad for asking stupid questions. There certainly are stupid questions.
This is not a stupid question:

“Do you want acting AG Matt Whitaker to rein in Mueller?

TRUMP: “What a stupid question that is. What a stupid question. But I watch you a lot, you ask a lot of stupid questions."

It's an important question.  But maybe stupid because...well, duh.

Two years on and how’s the Team Trump Treason vetting process working out? “I don’t know Whitaker very well.” Hmmmmm, sure. What a way to run a country.
Already throwing him under the bus, eh? president pinnochio still has no idea how to do his job. Oh well, it's a good thing if he learns Whitaker is not right for the job.
