Just another weds night massacre he was probably mad about the results of the elections..
    This borders on idiocy.
What the shooting on my comment if you mean my comment I agree but I’d say your comments are just as idiotic since most likely you will say nothing can be done ..
How do you know that the shooter wasn't mad at the results of the election. Kill those damn young socialists. People get shot over sneakers. No one knows who or why yet; but it's not idiotic to say what Jose said. It is just as likely as any other scenario. The end result is the same - dead people, and one of them was a police officer with a gun.

Shooter yesterday was a marine who served for 4 1/2 years and was in Afghanistan.  God damn we need to get our vets better help when they get home.   I know it is a slippery slope but the guy had just met with a mental health specialist, to me all firearms should have been confiscated at this point.
lol yeah who and what administration will do that ? we will just have to get used to these massacres it's not like a hundred got mowed down it was only 12 this is part of the gun culture own it ....
gun culture own what?  It was a former Marine who I am guessing had some demons.  Blame the individual, not the supposed shooter and in this case get them some help.

Why is it always a male?  ugh
And an assault rifle too. Why can't it be a shotgun sometimes?
I know you are using sarcasm but I can't even begin to imagine how much more deadly last night would have been if the guy used a shotgun.
    Debatable.

No pistol grip. No large capacity magazine. Folding the gun in half to reload both barrels.

A while back in this thread, we saw some woman get shot in the face by a shotgun and her injuries amounted to prying pellets out of her cheek (yes... point blank is another story... but you have to get someone point blank to shoot them point blank- it's tough to do with everyone running away).
Reload both barrels?  Are you defending your stagecoach lol? You ever see some of those shotgun mags (I think they would be mags, maybe rotary mags).  Buck shot scares the shit out of me.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......

I was wrong, they know who. I hadn't seen any updates since earlier today.

You do realize that not all shotguns are double barrel that you have to fold in half and there are a variety of shotgun rounds that do different amounts of damage, right?  Also many varieties that are semi-auto and can be equipped with large capacity magazines.  You’re smarter than that Thirty.

For what its worth, while although he did purchase the gun legally, he had a magazine extender, which to my knowledge is illegal in CA.
I've said before I'm for magazine limits. Perhaps there should be a federal law for that, because even though they are illegal they are not all that hard to get when they are legal in so many states.

If we want to play wild west with our gun laws then we should go back to wild west guns.
Revolvers and bolt action rifles and fuck everything else and the cowards who can't bear to lose their precious compensators.
Not sure all of that would hold up in the Supreme Court.  Nice fantasy though.
Sure it could.  Read Scalia's majority opinion in the Heller decision.  There's no reason to believe that revolvers and bolt action couldn't be the extent of available guns.  Why do you think it wouldn't fall into the concept of reasonable limitations?  Where do you think the line exists?
Well, you could ask judge Kavanaugh.  He was pretty clear on his definition of “common”.  But if you are looking for a battle to lose, that’s your prerogative.  Cannot even get ar-15s banned, let alone all semi-auto pistols and rifles.
The SCOTUS ruled that AR-15 ban is Unconstitutional?  Please point me to that.
I’m not sure that is what I said...?  I said that they cannot or have not yet despite many attempts.
You're confusing me with the non-sequitur.  The question was about the Constitutionality, not whether the Congress had the will to do it (although don't forget they did it in 94 for 10 years, so it's not unheard of).

That was also an import ban.  It said nothing about selling the ones that were already in the states though.  That was grandfathered.

If they are here but can be bought and sold among each other is that ok?

Not to mention that it didn’t even come close to only allowing revolvers and bolt actions either.  There are plenty of semi-autos out there that have never been banned.

It's completely besides the point.  There's nothing in the majority opinion that would specifically disallow a state or the Feds to ban anything but bolt action and revolver.  I don't think it's going to happen and I don't think I would want it to happen personally.  It would be a fascinating case to know where the majority decides the line will be.

Your post alluded to magazine limits and California having one of the strictest laws regarding but they were easily available elsewhere, thus “something” that could be addressed at a federal level. What about my state or province? 12 or 1,000, what difference does it make? 10 is a nice round number though. Do you really need more than 10 to protect yourself? Maybe from invading caravans?

But you don’t like me and you have guns. I offered Unsung to show up with a case of beer and he told me not to be insane. I don’t know if was for bringing beer or for showing up. Or for thinking he might shoot me through the door.

Honestly, I don’t know but I believe we passed a law limiting it to 10 or 12 rounds. But we also don’t have a huge problem with gun violence where I live. Never been broken into, never been assaulted, never felt the need to have a gun for protection. Just not something I think about as something I need to be or feel safe. But more than one death is too many and we’ve had more than one.

I was wrong, they know who. I hadn't seen any updates since earlier today.
for thread integrity i was being facitiuos with my comment or sarcastic just sick of these massacres , hey Mcgruff did i spell this correctly ?

  • A certain poster on this thread went a little angry when queried whether they concealed carried everywhere they went after a long road trip. Then I was chastised for asking too personal a question and based on his reaction and others’ you would have thought I was peeking in their bathroom window while they were showering. Right to privacy, you know?

Just another weds night massacre he was probably mad about the results of the elections..
    This borders on idiocy.
What the shooting on my comment if you mean my comment I agree but I’d say your comments are just as idiotic since most likely you will say nothing can be done ..
How do you know that the shooter wasn't mad at the results of the election. Kill those damn young socialists. People get shot over sneakers. I've said before I'm for magazine limits. Perhaps there should be a federal law for that, because even though they are illegal they are not all that hard to get when they are legal in so many states.
I have no problem with mag limits.
So write and call your congressional delegations.
We have ten round mag limits in nj.  What about your state?
Your post alluded to magazine limits and California having one of the strictest laws regarding but they were easily available elsewhere, thus “something” that could be addressed at a federal level. What about my state or province? 12 or 1,000, what difference does it make? 10 is a nice round number though. Do you really need more than 10 to protect yourself? Maybe from invading caravans?
Why are you so afraid to discuss what geographic area you are from? You are more paranoid than unsung. (And for the record, I like unsung)

I don’t like you and I have guns.  Seriously?  Don’t flatter yourself, in my mind all of these conversations are just talk next to a campfire while drinking beers. No yelling and no animosity.
I have five kids and I love my wife to death, I do not ever want to spend one single second in jail.  I own firearms to hunt, shoot and protect my family.   Yeah a lot of people say what are the chances?  Well I d rather be prepared than not prepared at all.

Oh. So you're saying you'd shoot him, but won't because you don't want to go to jail?

I guess this lends weight to the notion that heavy sentences are most assuredly a deterrent to committing crimes.

God forbid we ever meet i will shove a moose head so far up your.....

    lol

Just as long as it's not a gun and you'll pull the trigger until it goes 'click click'. Ain't nobody got time for that!
