Certainly PJs peak in terms of intensity.  Dave deserves a lot of credit for that.

Does anyone remember Vs. being released on vinyl a week earlier?  I swore the LP was released a week ahead of the CD/Cassette.  I remember hooking up a turntable that was out of commission for a few years to listen to it.
Vitalogy was released on vinyl two weeks before the CD/cassette release. :)

The PJ20 book confirms Vs. vinyl was released a week ahead of the CD and cassette.

VS. is what  moved me fully to PJ over Nirvana. I fucking loved both Nevermind and Ten and beat the shit out of both cassettes. VS. was amazing from the 1st listen. I remember repeating Daughter and RVM as much as i could.  And i have one of the cassettes labeled Five Against One.

One, two, three, four, five against one
    Five, five, five against one

    Never heard of this vs.

I bought vs. at midnight release day in NJ. I’ll never forget driving home with my best friend in his 92 mustang with it blasted. Pure teenage fire.

Those were the days I wanna hold your man.

I agree with both Ed and Stone on this.

On one hand, totally get Eddie not feeling that when they are making an intense rock record. On the other hand, Stone in a robe in slippers ready to rock is fucking hilarious and awesome!!

what shirt is Dave wearing in that RS picture? Looks like the word "Air" and the Michael Jordan insignia, but I'm guessing Air Jordan shirts weren't around then.  Underneath it looks like it says "Love Bone" like Mother Love Bone but probably not that either.

Is that not a Montreal Canadians jersey on Stone? Being from the left coast I could see the rest of the band having a big problem with that lol. Seriously though a great album, love the first hand stories about people remembering where the grabbed the album/CD/cassette etc.

Leash would have been better as a lost dog, that rarely gets found.

HTI over Dissident, Whippin over Leash, and it is a possible candidate for GOAT
His eminence has yet to show.

Just Dave's snare in that song-it's like a whip cracking and I wince every time I hear the snare if I play it at the volume it's meant to be played at. Awesome. Stylistically to me Matt's interpretations, which I'm glad he makes his own, are obviously different enough to throw some people off including myself in different songs. But he really smashes it live with the more rocking stuff on Vs (and Last Exit too). He and Dave A are the PJ drummers that sit at the front of the beat more than Jack and Dave K, and so it's natural that Matt absolutely kicks arse on the Vs stuff live.

I've seen the whole album live and am happy to say that! Blood and Leash fired me up so big back then and they still bring me back to a piece of that today.
