Alice Cooper 'Special Forces' (new blue vinyl).
Alice Cooper 'Killer' (new gold vinyl).
Styx 'Pieces of Eight' (used gold vinyl).

    Yup. A colored vinyl binge.

Love me some AC though. If you are a person that never got into this guy... dive in (this is my gift to you). Go in this order (my favourite album and favourite tune from the album in brackets):

    1. Welcome to My Nightmare (Cold Ethyl- an album full of great songs, but this has always been a 'go to' for me)
    2. Special Forces (You Look Good in Rags- great guitars and cool song)
    3. Flush the Fashion (Clones + Headlines- great songs)
    4. Killer (You Drive Me Nervous- really good song... tough to pick a personal favourite because the album is one that doesn't really feature a true standout for my tastes even though Be My Lover and Under My Wheels are noted as two)
    5. Billion Dollar Babies (I Love the Dead- I have to play this song when my wife is sleeping on road trips)
    6. Love it to Death (Ballad of Dwight Fry- dark tune with classic Alice vocal work)
    7. Goes to Hell (Wish You Were Here- cool track)
    8. Muscle of Love (Hard Hearted Alice- gawddam awesome song!!!)
    9. School's Out (School's Out- a commercial song and overplayed... but a classic nonetheless)

Is that the same as the double that came out last year?  I have both the original and the reissue.  I think the reissue is a bit better, maybe a bit more lively.  Nice pressing for sure and cut by Chris Bellman.

I bet it's the CB cut.  I doubt  a new lacquer was cut so soon.  I didn't realize it was gold...damn... I'm tempted to buy it now.  It's only a few bucks more than the version I got last year.  I'm a sucker for colored vinyl.

I made my way down to Sacramento today and picked up this most excellent Parlophone reissue of Bowie's Hunk Dory.  Sweet!

Thats s beauty. listen to the Andy Warhol song. Metallica ripped bowies riff off. No metal head back in the 80's would have noticed but now...maybe it's just a respectful not to him. Idk. Have to check my master of puppets to see if they credited him.

I recently got Tres Hombres by ZZTop. I'm pretty sure half the reason is because it was "jalapeno green".

What a thrill it was to find out about this release.  Great sounding record, nicely recorded.  It's killer!  (Or should I say "murder"? LOL)

Kudos to your wife!  Great choice!

Great album but, fuck, that cover always brings back some really heavy memories of being a 12 year old hearing about the incident and seeing the photos.  Heavy fucking times.

It’s really a terrific capture of their prime.  A nice combo of recklessness and playing the songs well. Hard to get the balance right with the ‘Mats.

    Amazing band.

I love Alice Cooper Goes To Hell. It is the epitome of when albums were played from Side 1 first song to Side 2 last song. It is a story. My favorite song from the album is Wake Me Gently but the whole album is pure genius. IMHO.
