Non-PJ - Bruce Springsteen is mostly a singles artist and has very few "complete" albums
LOL.  This thread is unpopular opinions not farcical.
Well . . . maybe I should've stuck with the more "unpopular" descriptor, overrated. But then again, I don't see the comment as farcical. Farcical would've been John Mellencamp > than Bruce Springsteen. Outside of 2-3 albums and/or a couple albums worth of songs, I find Bruce to be meh . . . as a live artist it is a different story
LOL.   Suggesting Bruce has very few ‘complete’ albums is most definitely farcical.  Maybe we can start a drunken opinion thread for you.

We'll just agree to disagree . . . his GA ticketing policy is good though
Remove yourself from comfort . . . all progress involves risk

I don’t understand why people feel the need to criticize those who wait in line for merchandise
    it’s not their money
    nor
    their time

    so why pass judgement

    I’ve waited in lines
    drank in bars
    and partied in parking lots
meeting great people in all three places

Help out rock music and have opening acts again.

I agree with the statement that they need to get back to being Neil Youngish instead of being Springsteeny

Setlists the last few yrs haven't been nearly as good in the previous decade 2000-2010

I also agree with the statement that they need to play deeper cuts more than once a decade especially since they're touring less

Dirty Frank tease sucked, I blacked out just standing there looking at the stage, no idea what happened after Dirty water until I got the bootleg at which point I deleted dirty water as not to ruin it for me again!

Stop it with the covers, too many original tracks to play instead of other bands songs

Start on time! Can't lie, I'm a bit annoyed that two yrs ago they played two nights, over 30 songs each night. this yr, a neat 30 songs each night with both shows starting at 8pm basically could've started at 630-645pm and played longer and more.

Instead we get a story about the word fuck. Enough with the ranting Ed, luv u mean it but shut the fuck up and rock out!

Stop playing even flow & dte

Never play sirens, the end, sleeping by myself, future days, parachutes, these songs are awful and ruin the flow to any show. Add arms aloft as well.

    Bono is a douche bag

Can't Deny Me is ok not that great

Stop talking about your famous people buddies, just annoying

Stop playing Fenway, it's played out!

It's been 5 yrs, new album please

Let Stone sing maybe more than once a tour

I think that's it. I feel a little better now!

    3. It doesn’t get “Eddie Vedder” than this. (No, no and no.)

I think you’re the first to say they could have played longer and more after referencing a 3+ hour show.
3+ hour shows are great. Openers are great. But with curfews it’s tough to have both.

I don't think I ever listened to "Johnny Guitar" more than once after buying Backspacer at Target.

I've never seen PJ live having been a fan since 1991.

Don't mind saying Dave A. is a fantastic drummer, but Matt Cameron is just a "little mo' better".

Bono was once a rockstar...now he looks like an old Irish Robin Williams. Just sad.

I never listen to PJ bootlegs. Can't stand them. I much prefer the studio versions of songs.

Think Boom should write more songs with the band.

3 of my favorite songs are: Big Wave, Ole, Let The Records Play (not a joke...I love those songs).

Wish Ed would stop playing the ukulele - can't stand the sound of the thing.

Wish PJ would play entire Temple of Dog/Mother Love Bone sets (seriously, Ed singing "Pushin' Forward Back" and "Stardog Champion").

  • Pearl Jam is becoming a nostalgia act.  Even though the setlists are changed every night, they hardly play anything off of the newer records.  Especially Riot Act - which is a great record.  They play too many covers live and the covers they do play are getting played out. Instead of covers play more songs off of Riot Act, S/T, Backspacer and Lightning Bolt.

Oh, and Can't Deny Me is awful.

    I love everyone! :-)

  • Ghost is the best song on Riot Act(after I am Mine, of course).

“Can’t Deny Me” is basically “Don’t Go On Me” if you listen to it.  And Go is about 10x better.

    Heres my UOs
Backspacer sucks so bad it could be a Nickleback album
Its been far too long since their last album
I wish for no more ballpark shows
I'd prefer a support band and PJ playing 2-2.5 hours over a 3 hour show loaded with covers
... and let Jeff sing ;->

I mentioned setlist recently have been good but the 2013 tour truly had some gems

About the Fenway shows this yr at least, again, could've gone on earlier or had an opener for 30-40 min. I miss opening acts, it exposed me to bands which led to being exposed to other bands. My logic being if a band is opening for PJ they're probably alright.
