You are living in fantasy land if you think either scenario will actually happen. Lucky to get 15 dates for any "tour" these days.
I think for an album tour they would do at least 30 dates. May be a bit spread out.

i support whatever keeps them playing. If too many dates burns them out, keep it less.

    Gotta compare apples to apples.

Historical data, regardless of the actual totals, reflect bigger tours immediately following an album. Undisputed.  There are no other alternative facts and this is not fake news.

if you want to talk about years where there’s no new album....sure, data will reflect light tour activity and your statement could be accurate.

Fact of the matter is, the band is recording. Album is coming. Any subsequent tour is gonna be more than 15 dates if the album truly happens.

if they sputter out again in the studio, and can’t complete this album, then sure..... 15 dates makes sense.

Agree that there will be a bunch of dates if a new record drops.  But no way 70.  Maybe 30 if you include Canada. Don't get me wrong I would love to see longer tours.  I live in the northeast and long for the glory days when I could catch 7 shows within 150 miles. I just think they are moving towards fewer dates, even with a new record.

This is a tough one as both have had their benefits, but since I have yet to see a larger tour in smaller venues fro them, I would fucking LOVE to follow them for at least a handful of shows without going very far.

Probably right.  But I expect a helluva lot more than 15. And hope for more than 30.

Especially when my two hometowns (Detroit and Portland) have been skipped over for the past 4 and 5 years, respectively.

Time will tell.........my bucket list is a budokan show in Tokyo.  Still kicking myself for not going in 2003!

    35 dates 3+ hr sets
Based on your question alone I have to vote 35 3 hour shows.  I'm hoping these are small rock clubs... Like back in the day. That would be epic.  Of course to satisfy all of us it would have to be more like 35,000 3-hour shows at small rock clubs.

I still have vivid memories of the show at the Unicorn in Houston in April 92.

I know I was born and I know that I'll die. The in between is mine.

If anybody in the band reads these messages, I just have this to say... stick with the arenas. Baseball fields are a good way to fit a lot of people in, especially if you are promoting a cause like in Seattle, and obviously Wrigley is very special to Ed, but If I want to hear songs I can play the record. I want to see the guys I love. No complaints here, just what I prefer.

Crazy! My wife is Japanese and her family lives in Tokyo. What was I thinking?  UGH. Hopefully we will get a chance to make up for the bad decisions!  Back to regularly scheduled programming......

they will never play 35 dates. but i hope they go back to arenas as stadiums are not my thing. i think if you got 15 or so you would be doing well . or two legs of 10 cities would work too.
