Hologram Tours

A tour featuring a Roy Orbison hologram was just announced, and I think a Dio hologram will be making the rounds as well.

What does everyone think about this possible trend?

A hologram of Frank Zappa is supposed to be touring soon. Apparently Zappa alumni will be the backing band. I don't know how I feel about it yet. I mean, would I go see The Clash with a hologram of Joe Strummer? I probably would. I guess I won't have a real opinion on this until I actually see one myself.

I caught a few YouTube videos of the Dio performance. Personally it isn't something that interests me. I wonder what the cost will be for this sort of thing.

I couldn't see myself attending one of these if it was for Pearl Jam, or another artist/band I really enjoy. It just isn't the same in my eyes. I guess it is cool for people who are interested in this kind of technology and/or entertainment.
i have witnessed some performances. i have soaked up a lot of memories.

No way - I'd rather just watch an old concert of the band at home.

I think it is just a money grab by the artists' estates.  I don't think I'd ever go see such a show.

Another new trend is having a deceased artist's backing band going on the road......Bowie's band has toured with guest vocalists, as has the Revolution.
  • i dig roy but not enough to buy a ticket to this
i think the concept is kinda cool and far out man
