As we pack our bags for Chicago and prepare for out journey to the Windy City, I want to reflect on this request and sincerely thank mwplum, hauntingfamiliar, PJWG, LostPawn, 1Upstate and EVERY single other 10c member who has messaged me personally to support my father a and his journey/ battle with ALS.
To say Thank You seems like too little. To hand out stickers seems like too little. To do anything thing less than wrap my arms around your neck and squeeze you until you beg for me to stop.... seems like not enough.
Below is a link to my father's most recent ALS Story. I don't know if any of you read these. I don't know if that many of you care. I can tell you I did not pay attention to things like this until it happened to my family... so I understand.
What I will say, is that after something like this affects your life, you become hyper aware of the world around you... things are sweeter, people are more generous, days take on more meaning and every moment you spend with your father becomes a laser focused memory.
