Song you are most tired of hearing

Mine is Even Flow, on Friday when they started playing it there was a mass exodus to the restrooms the lines were out the doors just to take a piss. Friday was my 16th show & it's the 16th fucking time they have played it, lol. And not seeing any shows between 2006-2013 means the only Backspacer song I have gotten in my 4 shows since Backspacer, is Unthought fucking Known, my 2nd least favorite song on the album & they never play any of the really great songs from that album. Force of Nature, Supersonic, Got Some & The End are light years better. UK is safe & poppy, I guess if you are trying to appeal to the pop music crowd. I was getting burned out on Better Man but they have been play the much edgier version, which I really dig, so I am back on board. In general I wish we would get more No Code, Binaural, Riot Act, Avocado & Lost Dogs in these setlists, but I know I am not the only one who feels that way. Some people will disagree & think every song is awesome and every setlist is amazing, but this is my opinion and I am entitled to that. Overall the last 2 shows were really great, it sounded great, and the crowd was really into it, so I hope the Home Shows become a every year thing, because 12M ain't going to cure Seattle's homeless problem, it's going to take years, but the longer that they stay at it, the easier it'll be, because they will be able to raise more awareness and more contributions, even people who aren't Pearl Jam fans here in Seattle were talking about how awesome it is what PJ is doing, this is just the start, not the end. All the PJ fans I talked to said they'd love to come back again & everyone said they had a great time here. Go Clemson & yes those are purple cords

Even flow should be  played at every show. Is an anthem of  the band and the meaning of the song is so important
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
    "..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”

The band OBVIOUSLY enjoys playing it. I remember and article where Mike said he wished Ed would quit putting Corduroy on setlists, he didn’t say Even Flow. This is possibly their most popular song outside of this tiny, minuscule message board group. Is it their best song? Yes or No, it’s all subjective

I wouldn't mind Even Flow or Curduroy if they weren't stretched out into infinity and beyond. Just keep them at original length and all is good.

Music is art and to each their own in terms of opinion.  To put it in perspective, your least favorite song only comprises 3.3% of a 30 song set.  So if they play 2 songs you don’t care for, you are still loving the remaining 93.4% of the show.  Luckily we are PJ fans...that % is much lower with other bands out there and the song total is less.

The hard part with PJ is determining when to piss...other bands make it easy...review setlist from night before figure out what song you don’t like and there is a good chance the setlist will virtually be identical as the night before.  With PJ it is a roll of the dice...

  • I don't go to 25 shows per tour so I don't really get tired of songs.

How can you be tired of hearing Evenflow in 2018, when the last time you saw Pearl Jam live was in 2014. That is 4 years of not hearing Evenflow. For me.

But I do think in general they should mix up their staples more. Have a pool of semi-staples instead of having that rigid backbone of always-being-played-songs. Every other time Do The Evolution (which I love live) is on the setlist they could throw in Save You or Breakerfall instead. Etc.

I think they usually mix up:
Fast Classics: Jeremy, Alive, Porch, Animal, Corduroy, Do the Evolution
Slow Classics: Small Town, Daughter, Betterman

And then Even Flow gets played every time.

    Porch, black and just breathe.

That doesn't count the two I would so happy to never hear again. But I think that puts them in a different catagory.
Anything you lose from being honest
You never really had to begin with.

Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

    Naw.

I'd say Do The Evolution, Given to Fly, Porch, Alive are part of the "always played" backbone.

Alive, Porch and DTE have been played at every single show this year.. They hardly mix those up

I'm personally not tired of any song.. Just Breathe is not for me, but people know every word to it which makes it somewhat fun

They mix up the sets enough. Playing 5-10 of the same songs at every show is fine with me. Keeps the casual fan happy and then throw in some rare gems and we all go home with smiles.
