Has anyone listed a country artist yet? I don't really like that genre anymore, but I figured someone would have mentioned Garth, Shania, Tim McGraw, Reba or The Dixie Chicks by now. I grew up on oldies and country until about 1991 and then everything changed when I finally was exposed to rock music.

    Johnny Cash- American Recordings

    a freaking classic!!!

I listed that one along with Emmylou's Wrecking Ball and Dwight Yoakam's This Time and maybe one or two others. Fact is country went to shit with the emergence of Garth, Shania, et al. Reba's best stuff was in the '80s.
    This Time is fucking excellent!
This Time is my favorite album of his.

But even Dwight Yoakam's stinkers are enjoyable. He's country music's version of Kurt Vonnegut.

You could do this by genre, a top ten would be too difficult. You would forever be remembering albums that you would want to put back in. Heres ten of my favourites from the 90s

    Badmotorfinger
    No Code
Earth Vs The Wildearts - The Wildhearts
    Dirt
    Pantera - Far Beyond Driven
    OK Computer
Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss
    Megadeth - Rust In Peace
Kyuss - Blues for the Red Sun
Electric Wizard - Come my fanatics

These always sound great, every time I play them.
