Barcelona GA chaos

bjgusbjgus Posts: 17
Long time lurker here. I know this has been discussed at length, but somebody from 10 club needs to have more of leadership presence during ga line ups. Barcelona is very chaotic right now. People bouncing in and out of line, very strange impromptu bathroom queue, some getting merch others no. Locked Porta potties behind us. It is wreaking it for those who enjoy lining up early meeting people and sharing stories. I love GA, but let's clean it up please. End rant. Still having fun, anticipating great show!

I see what you're saying, pic doesn't look chaotic, but we are around number 100 and at least 30-40 have budged in front of us. Also, it was bizarre how some were let in for the bathroom and merch, others were not. Again, I still love GA, just looking for a little more order. Excited for a great show in Barcelona!

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same fools who think they can barge to the front because of their number system.

If you let people cut you in line and don’t get your spot back there’s already a personal problem that needs to be addressed.

It's weird to me that a group of 30 or 40 people can cut in front of a group comprising greater numbers without anybody sticking up for themselves or their fellow queuers.

I agree.  10 club is too busy to be policing the GA line.  We are all adults, it really shouldn't be that hard to manage.  If someone cuts in front of you, politely tell them to head to the back of the line.  I don't feel like this was an issue at the last few US shows I went to, but who knows.  I also don't agree with doing away with GA.  I happen to love it and its a whole different experience, at least for me.  Hopefully we can manage it ourselves before dad takes it away.

I get that, and I agree, but if only a few people speak up then they're basically getting steamrolled and no one backs them up. Most people probably don't want to start a fight in a foreign country!

Yah, unfortunately I don't say much when someone budges in front of me.  Reminds me of the pop show in seattle in 2013.   We started about 50th in line, but the line kept getting fatter.   I think we were around 100th when we went in.

We shouldn't need monitoring,we're adults.. lol.  I understand why the 10c wouldn't want to spend resources on people to control it.   I used to be against the Springsteen thing.  Where you show up in the afternoon, get a #,  then they do a draw before doors, and that number becomes the start of the line.  The thing is, it's designed to let people into the front section of the floor (they split the pit into two sections).   It wasn't really put in place for a single GA section.   Still, with how out control it's getting.  Maybe it's not a bad idea.

    Yes.

When Im going to a concert, Im not looking to start fist fights over a spot in line.

10c really needs to get a new system.  There WILL be an ugly incident at some point.

Radiohead did a random draw.  You had to show up at the box office starting at 9am to get your random number.  Then, at 5pm you show up to get in line by number.  If you didn't give a shit you just show up and get in line later

When I saw Springsteen in GA two years ago they just had a front and rear GA section.  They just gave out wristbands for the front section until they ran out.  We got there after work and still got one around 4pm.  Once they ran out everyone else went into the rear GA section.  People lined up from there to be on the rail but we went back and tailgated and went in about a half hour before showtime.  We were still able to be within 20 feet of the stage.
