I have no idea. Let’s say they remove the zero tolerance- they still have war torn countries and cartels forcing people out of their countries for safety and ending up here. Look at Europe, most of those countries bordering the type of countries have walls/fences/etc. and prosecute & throw people out who try to come in. But it can’t be cheap.

A lot of people who are currently being prosecuted and have had their kids sent to these horrible wallmart cages tried to do it the right way but were not able to get in. Turn around and go traverse back to your war torn country or do what these folks did?

I m pretty sure there are no cages at the detention centers, I think the cages are there when they are initially charged.

What I recall is that in the 80s, it was the unstated policy to look the other way because business wanted cheap labor...and they didn't care who crossed the border. You know who occupied the White House during the 80s. So I have complete sympathy and acceptance for all of the immigrants who came and worked hard to find a better life. No problem at all. I also have no problem with all the refugees showing up at our borders now to request asylum and doing that is completely legal. Our current government is engaging in child abuse and kidnapping and should get busy immediately in reuniting the families they've torn apart. This current policy is a putin boy policy and he'll burn in hell for what he's doing....along with the people who aren't doing anything to stop him. Yeah, I think that's how I feel...my humble opinion. My best to all.

Every study I’ve seen backs this up - the crime rate amongst immigrants is lower than amongst those born American citizens. I believe the same pattern holds true in Canada, too.
