If PJ hired you to create the Home Show posters, what would you do?

JB128716JB128716 Posts: 2,064
Let's say PJ left it up to you to create a poster for any of the Home Shows.  What city would you pick and what would it look like?

I'm going to the Seattle Shows and I would love something that kind of depicted the band's history like having a scene in front of the Off Ramp or something like that.
Or may be an homage to some of the fallen like Andy, Chris and Layne.  Maybe the band is playing with a few of the greats looking from above?

So let's have some fun and Name the City and what would you design?
92 - Orlando
03 - Tampa
08 - Tampa
12 - DeLuna Fest, EV Orlando 1 & 2, EV Ft Lauderdale 1 & 2
13 - Wrigley!!! ,Brooklyn 1 & 2, Hartford, OKC, Seattle
14 - Leeds, Milton Keynes, St Louis
16 - Ft Lauderdale, Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville, Wrigley 1 & 2

    Seattle
Looking out from batters box perspective
Eddie on the  mound with mic singing passionately
Mike soloing behind head on the third baseline
Jeff rocking in the air at short
Stohe duckwalk grooving on first base
    Matt drumming in Centerfield

If we add the Angels in Outfield theme then the
bleachers have members of Seattle rock history who have passed blended in with the crowd  (Andy Wood, Jimi Hendrix, Chris Cornell, Layne, Kurt Cobain etc)

    Seattle Night 1:

Front: A sketch of a stereotypical figure of a homeless man (i.e., long hair, long beard) looking up at some butterflies flying over his head.

Back: Words of wisdom by EV (e.g., expanding on the line thoughts arrive like butterflies, personal story related to a homeless man)

    Seattle Night 2:

Front: A cartoonified version of all six members of PJ rocking the top of Space Needle with the words Fight Homelessness written on the flag.

Back: Names of all the local non-profits participated in the project, statistics related to homelessness in Seattle etc.

For Chicago, not sure which night but there would definitely be a hidden image of Ralph Wiggum picking his nose.

    I mean it!!

If I was doing one of the Seattle shows, Id design a print with the guys parachuting down from the top of the Space Needle.

It’d just be a copy of my 5th grade report card where my teacher said I was a good listener.

I'd have a steel worker walking along a bridge eating cracker jacks, with donkey Kong climbing atop the structure. Instant sellout and would be worth a fortune on the secondary market. Each city would get a different color scheme.

Actually thought of this after seeing the Thomas Boston 2016 poster. Would be great to see band in fielding positions as they appear on stage.

Something that means something, that is referencing the band, its history, its views or the geographical place.

Lets skip the posters lacking any context to the band and/or the specific show.

    So this got me thinking...

To build on your concept; I now see a classroom with the guys in class, report card on desk, teachers back shoulder in foreground, map on back wall with location pinned, each of the "kids" dreaming/doodling/acting something they love. There would be other kids in the class but they would be obscured somehow.

But don't get me wrong, just the report card, tickles my fancy. :-)

I love the Supertrain idea but for the love of god do something with/for Chris. Id HAPPILY pay $50 for the poster with $15 going to suicide prevention.

Generally speaking, I like posters that depict something about the time and place I am attending. It can be topical, political, symbolic of the city, thats all perfect in my opinion.

And then, if you want to to actually look good on walls of peoples homes...
    NO SKULLS
AS MANY EYES AS IT SHOULD HAVE
    NO DEAD ANYTHINGS

This shouldn't be hard. Look at the best posters ever, Moline, Pitt, Hartford.
