Used Guitar Store in Seattle 2018

Hello!
I'll be in Seattle for the Home Shows in August and was thinking about getting a nice used Fender Telecaster. I'd prefer to get one that's Made in Mexico, because I'm pretty sure I can't afford the American Fenders... Anybody has any suggestions of stores in the city? Also, would you know how much a used MIM Tele might cost in average? They tend to be pretty expensive in Brazil (where I'm flying from), so could they be found for less than 500 dollars in Seattle or am I being too unrealistic? I appreciate any information you guys are able to provide. Thanks! :)

The best guitar shop, by a mile, in Seattle (and only a few blocks from the stadium), is called Emerald City Guitars - http://www.emeraldcityguitars.com/. The guy who owns it is a great guy. His staff is excellent, and the quality of their vintage guitars and amps is second to none.  But I suppose it isn't a budget place, so may not be what you're looking for. There are other options for used gear. The Trading Musician (https://www.tradingmusician.com/) tends to have a lot of used guitars, as well as Thunder Road Guitars (http://www.thunderroadguitars.com) a block from Easy Street Records in West Seattle, and of course Guitar Center may have something as well. You'll want to call around either shortly before or once you get to Seattle, because used inventory can frequently change.

Thank you very much! I checked all three websites and they seem to have a lot of used guitars indeed, it might be worth visiting their stores while in town. I hope I can find a nice used Tele for less than $500  =)

I hope so, too! Emerald City Guitars has some pricey vintage stuff, but it is the place where musicians who are stopping on tour in Seattle visit. They always have pictures of some famous guitar player visiting the shop. Even some guy named Mike McCready picked up a '59 Les Paul Burst there a couple of years ago.

Be careful what you buy though regarding the Cites issue. There is a restriction on Brazilian Rosewood which is the wood of choice for fretboard on quite a few MIM Tele's. I'm no expert on the issue, but a google search might be worthwhile so you don't run in to problems either getting it out of the US or in to Brazil.

Oh, good point.. I do need to research about that. I know that the Brazilian customs have a $500-dollar limit for bringing foreign products inside our country, so all declared purchases shouldn't go over that. But I have no idea about material restrictions. Thank you very much for pointing it out  :)
