    Good Morning Everyone!
Thank you all so very much for your support and for those of you who have bumped this thread to keep in going.   As I've mentioned, I do not post here often.  Thank you Matt for your email and for all the kind words.

For anyone who is not familiar, my father is a former minor league baseball player.  He played for Hall of Fame manager Sparky Anderson in 1966 during the longest uninterrupted baseball game in history.   Last year, I created a charity softball game to support the Joe Martin ALS Foundation.  This group provides home care to patients diagnosed with ALS.

    Last year, we raised $15,000.
This year, we have already surpassed that amount with incoming donations and auction items.

Team Gleason was kind enough to donate an autographed photo to the event, and I learned a few weeks ago that the parents of one of my players for the tball team I coach is very close with Steve Gleason, his wife and Mike McCready.

This is a wonderful event, and it's very special to me.  I wanted to send my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who have been so kind.     On behalf of my father and my entire family.... thank you.

    Drew

Here's a link to a documentary my dad made in 1977.
The music is pretty cheesy in some places, but overall it's pretty good.

In 1977, my dad followed the Charlotte O's on a ten day road trip interviewing players.  At the end of the trip, he signed a one game contract and played a home game at Crocket Park.   I was one year old at the time.

This was his last professional baseball game.   He got a hit in his last professional at bat.   Pretty special.

    Hey HF...
If you... or anyone for that matter would like one of my dad's baseball cards...send me a PM with your name and address.

There is a limited number... so I can't promise everyone will get one... but we ordered a few dozen to sell as donations at the softball game.

    Lemme know.

We raised $20,000 for The Joe Martin ALS Foundation this weekend!
Bob's Sox rallied to score six runs in 6th to break a 4-4 tie, and fought off a rally in the bottom the 7th by Lou's Yankees, but ultimately the Sox won the game 10-7.     (We let Lou's Yankees have home field advantage this year since we won it last year.)   I was 2-4 with a single a double and 2 RBI.

That's me in the 1939 replica Ted William's uniform.   Those are my dad's pants from 1966 when he played for the Cardinals.
My buddy Tonto wore a 1975 Carlton Fisk uniform.   My son, William, hit the first pitch and ran the bases.

Thank you all for the kind words and support.

I wish you all the best! And hoping they play Smile for you.

They played Smile over here in Copenhagen in 2012, and it was one of the highlights!
