3 Americans were released to come home and people on here are still bitching. I don’t understand that. How about a simple, “good to see some Americans released after 2 YEARS.” Push aside the ulterior motives of Kim and the fact you hate Trump for a second. Hostages were released = good stuff in my book. Maybe I’m a simpleton.

I'm sure everyone is glad hostages are released. The negativity is about something else. I think the issue is that some (RYME included) are using it as a point to try and legitimize Trump, and that is viewed as a dangerous thing. Legitimizing Trump is not acceptable in many, many people's minds. It doesn't mean that good things happening aren't acknowledged. The other thing is that people are suspicious of Un. While him releasing these 3 hostages is good, it would probably be naive to just take it at face value, given that the players are Un and Trump - two dangerous and dishonest and scheming characters. Those two working together makes people nervous for a good reason, especially since we still have ZERO idea what Un's motivations are, and no clue what is happening in back rooms. I mean, just the fact that Un has specifically waited until TRUMP is the guy to work with is a good reason to be beyond wary of this whole thing. I think at best, Un is doing this now because Trump is so easy to manipulate. It seems to me like the NK regime's intentions could be about taking advantage of America's crazy, idiotic leader.

Yes PJ soul said it exactly right.
"No matter what, Trump can never be legitimized." .No matter what.  Talk about closed-mindedness.
The inability to admit when you are legitimately wrong is extremely dangerous.

^ I get it. But this thread is 100% negativity. I think the consensus should be that hostages being released is good. Instead it is spun into a negative or an opportunity to say, “BUT, Trump still sucks” or “ Kim is a POS.”  We already know that. I’d rather just say, “cool, they released detainees.”  My 2 cents FWIW.

It's not closed minded to acknowledge reality. Trump IS dangerous, and constantly makes fascist statements, and he proves himself a huge liar every single day, and he is an admitted sexual predator, and the White House is in constant chaos, and he harbours white nationalists, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc. How in the world can you suggest that anyone should be willing to legitimize him under those circumstances??? How long are you going to forgive him for ALL the terrible shit he does and says every day?
I am not sure who you think is wrong either. Who is wrong about what?

Am I happy that the hostages were released? Absolutely. However, I'm not sure Team Trump Treason had a damn thing to do with any of it. He spouted off about fire and fury and using armed conflict to bring about regime change and tweaking an Obama era sanction. The South and North Koreans would have paid a heavy price if such rhetoric became fruition. Also, Team Trump Treason hadn't nominated or appointed a US ambassador to the South, which had to have left the South feeling like they weren't very high on the Team Trump Treason priority list (Team Trump Treason subsequently poached the ambassador to Australia to fill in, leaving the Australian's miffed). As such, the South Koreans realized they had to "lead by example." How'd they do that? They invited Un to the Olympics (which Team Trump Treason subsequently took credit for the success of) and opened their own negotiations with the North. Once Team Trump Treason saw that he was being left out and leading from behind, he suddenly changed his tune to, "I'll meet with the very honorable Un." Now, while the release of the hostages is certainly a good thing, I think it was the South Koreans and perhaps China that convinced Un to do it as a good will gesture. Team Trump Treason had nothing to do with it. Now, Team Trump Treason is crowing about how great he is while simultaneously withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal, with no alternative in place, and willing to meet with Un. I have little faith that Team Trump Treason can be trusted to negotiate anything, renege on any agreement and that somehow, he's being totally played by all sides on this. South Korea giving him credit? Its called stroking TTT's ego. The Chinese? they're in the driver's seat, along with Russia, the two countries that have the most to gain and little to lose, unless war breaks out or there is a flood of refugees to China. North Korea? What exactly have they given up? What have they gained? Prestige, a face to face with a sitting US president and a small nuclear arsenal. All for releasing 3 seized US citizens. Pretty high ROI, wouldn't you say? And what has the US gotten? Three released seized US citizens, again, a great thing but a far cry from "a denuclearized NK." Now TTT is announcing the DMZ is out as the site for the meeting but also saying a site has been selected and he'll make an announcement in 3 days. Its PT Barnum at the helm trying desperately to keep Cohen and Russian collusion off the front page. And PJSoul's comments about TTT are spot on.

    The "very honorable Un."

Fred and Cindy Warmbier filed the suit in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. It says the Warmbiers are seeking “to obtain justice" and that North Korea's conduct was criminal, extreme and malicious.

More: Amid tears and cheers, Trump hails Otto Warmbier's family as 'powerful witnesses' to North Korea's menace

“North Korea, which is a rogue regime, took Otto hostage for its own wrongful ends and brutally tortured and murdered him,” the lawsuit says.

“Otto was taken hostage, kept as a prisoner for political purposes, used as a pawn and singled out for exceptionally harsh and brutal treatment by Kim Jong Un," Warmbier's father, Fred, said in a statement. "Kim and his regime have portrayed themselves as innocent, while they intentionally destroyed our son’s life. This lawsuit is another step in holding North Korea accountable for its barbaric treatment of Otto and our family."

Nope, I wouldn’t care. But I’m pretty sure if it was Trump related, they wouldn’t care.  And seeing how trump is president he’ll get some credit whether you like it or not...

I find that very hard to believe. Even though you're saying that, I think you would care. Wouldn't you want to thank whoever was responsible for your freedom/saving your life?? Or at least know who was responsible for your continuing existence, as well as the story/truth behind the circumstance surrounding your release? I simply don't buy that you're that incurious about your own life, and could even feel that uninvolved in what happens to you, especially when it comes to massive, life-altering events. Sorry, saying that you wouldn't care about this just comes of as silliness - like you're just saying it in an attempt to make some kind of point. And why wouldn't they care if it was Trump related? I don't understand why you're saying that. Do you mean they wouldn't mind if Trump was directly responsible? If that's what you mean, then no shit. I don't think anyone would ever suggest such a thing.

I’m not even sure anyone on here gave trump praise or credit for the hostages’ release (i sure didn’t). I do know the first post was about the release announcement and the next thing you know, everyone starts saying trump is an ass hole. Where did that come from? It’s weird to me. We could get a news flash saying a scientist cured cancer and everyone would say trump sucks and why does he deserve credit. Lol. I’ll let the more brilliant minds discuss this one.

False analogy. If the scientist worked in Team Trump Treason’s CDC and the result was directly related to TTT funding said science because they shared two scoops of ice cream? That would equate. Or if said scientist left the CDC because TTT wouldn’t fund him and called him mad dog for requesting ten million in funding and said scientist went to Pfizer and TTT tried to take credit? Yea, it’d be the same.

I didn't give Trump credit for it. From what I can tell, Trump's basically done nothing besides suggest a meeting. I give Kim Jong Un the credit for the release of the hostages - I saw nothing to suggest this release was specifically negotiated. Seems more like Un just decided to it. If there were negotiations of any sort, I've seen nothing to suggest that Trump was involved in them. Un is also the one who requested this upcoming meeting between him and Trump. Trump gets credit for agreeing to attend I guess, although it's probably far too early for that, since we don't know what Trump is going to do at the meeting, and I think we're all justified in worrying about that. Is Trump going to be left alone with Un?? Trump says a lot of crazy shit a lot of the time - I'm worried about him being alone in a room with the second craziest leader in the world. Best to wait until after that before handing out kudos. We all still need to wait and see how all this shit turns out. It could easily go bad, considering the two major players.

Trump is killing it.  Even with 90% of the media that people sop up with a spoon in this country spewing hate and negative things on a daily basis for ratings, he keeps at it.  There’s no one else I know who could whether that daily storm like he does and not break down. He sure says and tweets a lot of stupid shit lol but he definitely saved those people’s lives- whatever’s left after Un fucked with them, anyway.

I still read these angry threads and laugh my ass off at how upset everyone is for no reason.  No one on this board has been personally affected by any of Trump’s moves- well, except for a few more bucks in their paychecks prob or if they’re a tranny in the military maybe or the live where that pipeline is supposed to go- but he’s still so vile and ruining our country and we’ll never survive and oh treason and dots and Russia yadda yadda yadda... yawn, you guys are sure entertaining!

Yes PJ soul said it exactly right.
"No matter what, Trump can never be legitimized." .No matter what.  Talk about closed-mindedness.
The inability to admit when you are legitimately wrong is extremely dangerous.
I’ll give him credit he deserves it but you do understand that he never admits to being wrong not once have you heard him say it have you ? Even after being proven wrong I’ll just point to one issue where he should of admitted that he was way off base ..
How about him being a birther on Obama he never has admitted how wrong he was ...
jesus greets me looks just like me ....

But your take on things is inaccurate. Trump has broken down. Sane people don't act like him, and just looking at all the craziness within his cabinet makes it clear that he has lost it. Also, he's the one who creates the daily storm, yet you act like he doesn't. Finally, you have absolutely NO way of knowing that he saved those people's lives, so I don't understand how you can make that statement.

No, people are not upset for no reason, and yes, many people have been personally affected by Trump's moves, including people on these boards; you have some nerve making that statement as if you actually know. Your post kind of blows my mind with its ignorance (it it willful?). I'm also rather surprised that you apparently couldn't care less about corruption in government. Bizarre. I actually thought you were being sarcastic when I started reading your post, lol.

Buh, buh, buh Benghazi! Buh, buh, buh, buh, her emails! Too funny. Bribery concerns me. Obstruction of justice concerns me. Bank fraud concerns me. Tax evasion concerns me. Money laundering concerns me. Conspiracy to defraud the United States concerns me.

Team Trump Treason is killing it all right. Rule of law that is. But when it’s your boy, it’s all good, right?

I don’t care if you want to rail against everything Trump does, or support everything he does.  Politics have become toxic.  But I’ll be damned if you can honestly say anything negative about this.  I just happened to be at Ted Stevens International Airport today and inbetween the UPS and China Freight planes landing, this beautiful bird of freedom landed.  The three vips that landed can tell us all a thing or two about how great our country is.
