So I'm flying in, going to night 1, and going straight back to airport after to get my 7am flight, zzzzzz. Anyone know how easy its going to be to get back to airport after the gig?

That is dedication. I did that for a San Diego show for Vedder.  It is rough and was in mid twenties at the time.

I have no clue but I know in 2012 the subway was running to get us back downtown to the train station.  From there you could grab a train to the airport if still running or taxi I guess.  Unless you plan on sleeping at the airport you have plenty of time to kill so a longer commute may be preferred to pass the time.

yes, I'm no longer in my twenties unfortunately!!  But, it's only one night, it's a very short flight back to UK and all being well I'll be back in bed by 9am! I am planning on sleeping at the airport....  I've no more leave to use up from work so have to get back and pick up kids from school!  I was already doing 7 shows, but the lure of a cheap flight was too much to pass up on to be there for the opening night!

hmm - a quick google suggests only half an hour, but wonder about late night options.  You can see I didn't really think this one through!!!

I'm pretty sure that trains run through the night to schipol from Amsterdam Centraal. It's about 15 mins or so from there. Check ns.nl for actual times.

Cool I got a lift by car and seemed a fair drive. But train sounds perfect  as there  is a station at ziggo dome.  And good on you Lou. That's  exactly  how you have the time of your life and make memories  you willNEVERforget or regret . It's exactly  what I did for last 2 hours. Sadly  not anymore. But I will send you  somewhere  out there enjoying  the all encompassing  trip

There seems to be almost direct connections from near Ziggo Dome to the airport. There's a rail station called Duivendrecht just north of Ziggo (1,4 km walk) From there you can catch a direct train to the airport. There's also other options where you don't have to travel via Amsterdam central. Search for directions on Google Maps (and use the public transport option). You can enter start times to see which options are available at night. I researched these somewhat last year when I considered going to see EV solo at the nearby venue.

Also some direct connections from the station Amsterdam Biljmer Arena, which is a bit nearer to Ziggo.

    If it was me:

    Go to show
Take train back to city centre
    Have a few beers
    Smoke a joint
    Walk to Amsterdam Central Station
Train to airport to arrive 4:30/5am

Thank you. The last couple of years have been hard for various reasons, I decided at the beginning of the year that only I could turn things around. I've gone from hoping to get tickets for a couple of gigs to planning 2 full on music adventures in europe and Seattle. I've met some lovely people to share it with and I can't wait, I think you're right, I truly am gonna have the time of my life!! I do feel guilty leaving my kids but am hoping I can instill a sense of adventure and passion for following their interests one day, whatever/wherever they may be!
