Saw them on Friday. Fun/energetic show. They're pretty awesome live. Opening band was pretty much a female version of them  They were called Thelma and The Sleaze (although when they said their name i though they said thelma and the Sleeves). Pretty much a mixed selection off all their albums. Surprised they didn't play Cherry Cola though. Also I did get a guitar pick. Jesse was throwing them in the audience a lot during the show. I got one with Rip Taylor's face on it and Boot's name on the other side

They played yesterday at Shaky Knees. They were very good live. The lead singer threw his guitar into the crowd ........ They really ripped it up.

Saw them in Pittsburgh tonight, one of my favorite bands to see live. Always an incredibly entertaining show. Boots is a true rock star.

I saw them in Indy Friday night. Great show.

Thelma and the Sleeze were awesome as well. Their sound reminded me a little of Wolfmother.

I think I would change their name if I were them but they were awesome.

Sound was horrible for both bands.
But the fun factor was threw the roof!

Great energy for both bands and rough/engaging pit throughout.

Security were jerks and shitty sound left me not wanting to go back to the PNE.

Hope it's at the Commodore next time...

Are you talking about that outdoor stage at the PNE? If so, I consider that the worst venue in the city. I saw The National there, and the show for what is common considered one of the very best live shows out there was basically ruined by the shitty venue. And you're right, the security are jerks there; you can barwly breathe without them intervening. I will never go back.

No it was inside. I think they call it the Forum. It's on the PNE grounds.
I would find it really tough to go back.It should have been at the Commodore.

saw them again last night in philly. Fun/good show again. Jesse's a great lead singer always interacting with the crowd. Pretty much same set lists as previous show but he did play this song which was pretty cool (It's a cover from tommy boyce and bobby hart) but most people know it from Bewitched,

Jesse came to Columbus a week or so ago. I was previously booked, but I swung by afterwards with my EODM/MC 7".

I asked for Jesse an autograph and mentioned something about how it "really isn't one of your items" and he was like "oh, they all are. It's close enough" as he was autographing the sleeve.

Jesse's online comments are appalling. I think he must be off his rocker. Good thing I never gave a shit about this band one way or the other (I'd never even heard of them before the Paris attack), because if I was an actual fan I'd have a real problem right now, lol.

I think Lisa (leezestar) is done with them.  I'm real close to it.

I don't blame you. I don't think I'd be able to listen to them without thinking about all the shit he just spewed. Hearing him would always bring up negative connotations... I did see them as the opener to QOTSA in January. They were pretty enjoyable, but I do remember thinking how I didn't really care for him in terms of stage presence - he came off like a bit of a goof. That female guitarist was the best feature of the band for me. She's cool. I wonder if she's as kooked as he is?? I hope not! Anyway, he's an idiot. There is no way all that could do anything but hurt his bandmates. What a jerk.

This and the fact that Josh kicked that photographer in the face, makes me really wonder if I want anything to do with that whole Joshua Tree group.

I think that kick is a totally different thing than this. It was spur of the moment, he was high, and he didn't mean to hurt anyone. Plus he apologized profusely afterwards, and showed genuine regret. It was an accident for which he felt terrible as far as I can tell. For me, that is wholly forgivable. But this crap that Jesse spewed... those aall seem to be long-thought out, deep-seated beliefs that he holds, and geez, just the trashiness of his willingness to talk about the protesters that way he did .... Completely different to me.

  • The guy's an idiot.

He was spewing garbage (pro gun rhetoric) as if he was Charlton Heston just after his audience was gunned down in Paris. To boot... their music is bad. Lastly, could he try any harder to look like a rock star that's cool?

He would have done well as an extra in Boogie Nights though.

I haven't listened to EODM since Jesse blamed the victims of the Paris shootings for their own deaths (I read an interview where he basically said they "surrendered to death").
The fact that he is now attacking fellow mass shooting survivors for making a stand is pretty fucked in the head imo.

They are different, no doubt, but I've been pretty damn fucked up before and never have and never will purposely kick a random person in the face. This was a photographer trying to glorify his rock star image and simply taking pictures. She wasn't crowding onto the stage or getting in his face and yet the guy kicks her? Josh can apologize all he wants, but he is still a serious asshole, in my book. It's easy to give the finger to EODM, because their music sucks. We're more apt to make excuses for someone when we love their work. I haven't listened to Queens since that incident and honestly don't know if I can let it go. It was just plain shitty.
