Have you watched Alex Jones? It’s rare that he actually says anything true about anyone.  He probably hits a few dozen falsehoods each episode.

LOL, we always bashed Russia for not allowing their citizens to make conflicting statements to the Government, now we are doing the same thing in the United States, you are attempting the limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, because most of us aren't actually there, and we have to accept others accounts, they could be completely full of shit and we'd never know, unless we have them on video tape or something. Otherwise you are accepting the words of people you never met on a willingness to believe, a leap of, dare I say it, faith.
Do you have any children in your life that you have loved?
Imagine that child was murdered by a shitworm at grade school.
Now imagine dealing with that and also being harassed and getting death threats for a decade by fucking nutters who heard from Alex Jones that not only was your child not murdered, but never existed in the first place.
Alex Jones is scum and his followers are scum too

Opinion not based in fact and unhinged from reality shouldn't be propagated, considered an alternative opinion or given serious consideration in the "spectrum of acceptable opinion." Its waaaaaay far outside the "spectrum of acceptable opinion."

  • http://irishantiwar.org/archives/forum/000404.htmlAlex Jones makes a fool of himself interviewing Noam Chomsky

http://www.opposingdigits.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=8712 Above is a link to an audio interview between Alex Jones and Noam Chomsky. The interview went well, they spoke well and agreed on pretty much everything of note until it came to the end. Y'see Jones is a big champion of gun owners and the "right to bear arms". It is a fact that the United States has more gun deaths per year than any other country. In fact, it is unique in this regard -- the difference in numbers is dramatic when you compare the figure with that of any other country. It's also common sense that where there's more guns there will be more deaths, accidental or otherwise. It breaks down into three categories, homicides, suicides and accidental killings. I don't know about last year but in 2001 there were 30,000, yes THIRTY THOUSAND people killed from gunfire in the United States of America. Jones, however, said that in the UK more people die of gun deaths. Chomsky countered it with a fact that didn't match Jones's point of view. After the interview ends Jones says "I knew it, Chomsky is New World Order scum etc." Jones goes on to talk about how much smarter he is than Chomsky and that Chomsky came on his show to undermine him or something. If you listen to the interview, Jones comes across as a narcissist at the end. As I've said before there is a degree of jealousy that he has directed at the likes of Chomsky and Michael Moore, not because Chomsky and Moore are more talented (I think they are) but because they are more capable of critical debate than Jones is, who appears to jump the gun all the time. Just when I was getting to really admire Jones and his work he has to say that "Noam Chomsky is New World Order scum" and "Chomsky sat there and tried to use groupthink on us" and "Chomsky, you're a New World Order shill and I've got twice the brain you got with both arms tied behind my back" (not to Chomsky when he was on the phone; afterwards to himself). He then denies well-known facts, and quotes by the likes of James Madison who talked about "the wealth of the nation", "the more capable class of men" and that the goal of government is "to protect the minority of the oppulent against the majority". Jones's precious Founding Fathers gave him the right, as he interpreted it, to shoot guns in his back yard in Texas and he somehow related that to present day gun deaths in America and also denies that the quotes that Chomsky says are factual. Although it's more complicated than this, Jones thinks that the government wants to take away guns from people so that when there is a "police takeover" military style (which is possible of course), the populace won't be able to defend themselves. Well, if I was a New World Order planner of the most powerful country in the world with the most advanced military in the world with 10,000 plus nuclear weapons and a well-trained and funded army and I happened to want to disarm the populace, do you think I'd care about the handguns and rifles people keep in their homes, or that they would be in any way a threat to the most powerful army in the world? Read the Second Amendment and link it to what Jones is saying: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Alex Jones, I still admire your passion and your work, but I think you need to become a little bit more objective. And you should be ashamed of yourself for ridiculing Chomsky AFTER he got off the phone. Chomksy would eat you for breakfast in any debate.

I didn't say anything about the First Amendment and the fight against govt.

Yeah, a private company can decide what is on its platform, but it doesn't change the fact that anything right of Elizabeth Warren is often deleted.

And not one of you even bothered to have a discussion, instead you all go mob style to discredit and silence instead of attempting any meaningful conversation.

No surprise though.  The alt-left are the real fascists.

No, I’m fairly certain the child sex rings on Mars don’t exist and I’m comfortable believing that even if I haven’t been there to check. You can choose to do otherwise if you wish. You can, in fact, start your own media channel, but you can’t insist that other people facilitate  it, just like Jones can’t.

there have always been opposition views since this country started, the Civil War was started because Southern Democrats wanted to keep slavery, what if they had eliminated free speech from the people wanting to end slavery?

Opinion not based in fact and unhinged from reality shouldn't be propagated, considered an alternative opinion or given serious consideration in the "spectrum of acceptable opinion." Its waaaaaay far outside the "spectrum of acceptable opinion."
what facts? you are accepting the words of people you never met and accepting it on a willingness to believe that's faith because you never actually witnessed it so that entire statement is complete BS!
Because that's what objective people do, they take what one person or a group of people say as gospel. There are things called facts, actually factual. Then there are falsehoods. Its usually pretty easy to see the difference. So, according to you, the only facts that exist are the ones that have been personally witnessed? Sure.

Have you ever been to Mars? Witnessed it?

but if you aren't their to observe them you are taking it on faith, you are showing faith in someone else's word that they are telling the truth, you never actually observed any of this yourself, and just cause you read it, doesn't make them right and doesn't make it fact.

As I said, no. But I have a certain familiarity with scientific facts so I’ll go with that. Others can choose differently.

I've never seen you dance out in front of Easy Street Records. Its all a conspiracy, its not true. Why should I believe Pearl Jam's Instagram account? Or your invitation to come watch? In fact, I don't think you've danced 44 Saturdays in a row because, according to you, if I didn't witness it, I'm taking a leap of faith. Damn, I so wanted to believe.

I am just smarter than to pay attention to it, just because I advocate for free speech, doesn't mean I advocate for anything they are saying, just the right to say it
And Jones has the right to say it WHEN he doesn’t harm others, but others don’t have to facilitate him to do so. That’s how it works.

there have always been opposition views since this country started, the Civil War was started because Southern Democrats wanted to keep slavery, what if they had eliminated free speech from the people wanting to end slavery?
Pardon? Of course there are always opposing points of view. Have I said there are not, or argued against people expressing them, so long as why don’t harm others? I can’t quite see your point here.

    Twitter is also silencing speech.

    Facebook has done it.

If it isn't inciting violence, threatening someone, outright racism, or blatant hate should it be censored?  Even by a private compnay.  Why the fear in the opposing viewpoint?

Because their not obligated to share the "opposing" viewpoint from their own, whatever it may be. Would the Pro-Life Movement allow a pro-Planned Parenthood message? Why fear the opposing viewpoint?

    Twitter is also silencing speech.

    Facebook has done it.

If it isn't inciting violence, threatening someone, outright racism, or blatant hate should it be censored?  Even by a private compnay.  Why the fear in the opposing viewpoint?

Because their not obligated to share the "opposing" viewpoint from their own, whatever it may be. Would the Pro-Life Movement allow a pro-Planned Parenthood message? Why fear the opposing viewpoint?
Bezos is getting a lot of money from US Intelligence, so you really think that doesn't effect what is their papers? Like they are going to publish anything that the people who are paying them wouldn't like? If you answered no, then you just don't understand how for profit corporations work. Apple is getting a sweetheart deal from Chinese government & what's to stop them from giving all our information to them? You get into a slippery slope when you start doing things subjectively instead of objectively which most people are incapable of once they get to a certain point in life.

    It would be HUGE.

I'd start with the energy industry and the dairy industry.

Then I'd go after Elon Musk's subsidies.

    Then anyone that supported GMO's.

That would be the first day.
