Thankfully, no Fenway snoozer for me

A reminder of the rules in place for the Fenway shows (pasted below from the Boston Herald).  If you were there 2 years ago, you watched a very tame band go through slow songs and sing alongs in between an incredible amount of Eddie thanking someone between every song (from Kevin Youkilis, to the mayor, to the security to the grounds-crews.....seriously), warning not to drink to much, not to stay out to late, be nice to your neighbor, and on and on and on.  As an older longtime fan who drinks responsibly, brings a great vibe, and likes to rock out a bit like most of this band's older followers, I thought it was ridiculous to hear them pander to the 'officials' of the city for allowing a "rock" show, treating the fans there like this was their first show, and generally embarrassed to see them go from raw energy/pushing the limits to a Broadway show safe-ness.  This may be just the type of show/non-swearing Eddie new fans want, but the younger version of this band and Ed would puke at the thought.

From the HERALD:

KEEP IT DOWN: The city will “monitor sound levels” from “various spots” in the neighborhood. Bands can be forced to turn the speakers down.

STREET PARTY: Yawkey Way can be closed — as is the case on game days — before shows for ticket holders only.

ENCORE: The last song must end by 10:30 p.m.

SAFETY NET: Boston police must clear all security plans, but the bands can have “input.”

Meanwhile, hundreds of Forum users' only reaction to this thread is thinking, wringing their hands in a Dr. Evil way, and snickering "Excellent, excellent! That's 1-4 fewer people between me and better Fenway seats!  Mwuahahahahaha!"

It's always easy to tell who did and didn't get tickets.

If you left those 2016 shows thinking you saw a tame band going through the motions with lots of banter in between slow songs, I'm not sure what to tell you.

After reading more posts in this thread, I'm wondering if he chose not to get tickets because there's no paper ticket. That seems like a weird stand to take, but then, he did want everyone to be OUTRAGED about not getting a paper ticket.

Thank you Burger King for continuing to make delicious flame grilled burgers at an affordable price.

Thank you BMW for putting summer tires on all of your cars, even in the cold, snowy Midwest.

Okay, now back to the music thread.  Take care of your fellow posters out there, it's gonna be a long night thread.

This is all about the seat in my opinion.
Night 1 I had my fanclub seats (123,xxx), like 8th row, dead center. It was literally one of the best nights of my life. It felt like he was singing screaming right at us.
Night 2, I had my brothers fanclub seats (300,xxx) I was over in right field by 1st base. They sound great, but you couldnt really see the explosiveness...but it was there.
I was lucky this year and won both nights in Boston and can not wait to relive 2016. Time of our lives.
