i mean, i remember how stressful it was to get tickets prior to this new lottery system, had to sit there sometimes for hours refreshing trying to get them. . .but the thing is i would almost always get tickets. . .while i like the new stress free system with the lottery, i also find that i get tickets WAY less often. . .just checked my history, ive gotten tickets through 10 club 2 out of 32 times that ive tried since they started doing it this way with Eddies solo tour at the start of 2013. . .what do you guys think?

Looking where you are from I am guessing you missed out in a lot of NY city shows as well as maybe Philly? The demand for those shows are the strongest out there. If you put them as your first couple of picks and strike out everything else after maybe too far down the priority to win as well. That is the gamble of going for the hot shows unfortunately and hard on those that can not travel.

I like the lottery in theory and execution.  F5 was nice for me because I was very successful... but it was a disaster and would take persistence for hours to get tickets and resulted in huge frustration for many (as well as favor those who were available at the on sale time).

However, making a pool of GA tickets as well as reserved created a way to imbalance the system and create ways for people to increase their chances.  I think this paperless ticketing policy is an attempt to even it out again.

I enjoyed the days of sending in index cards and money orders.   I'm not joking.  There was something ritualistic about it.

that said, this current system is the best thing we have had in a long time.   the F5 refresh days SUUCKED.   You had to be online at a certain time of day, usually during the work week.  Back then I was at jobs that had no outside internet access, so I would have to find a library.  And people would hit F5 refresh for hours.   Coming from the index cards, this was tragic for me.  I currently like the lottery.  I would rather put in my picks at my leisure, and then be notified if i won or lost.  I dont want to spend 8 hours in a virtual line waiting for tickets.   I'll take vacation days to SEE pearl jam.   I cant afford to take vacation days to see if I have a CHANCE to see Pearl Jam.

Exactly, You have to be smart in the way you select shows to give yourself the best shot.  The way 10C worded this announcement that they secured more tickets than ever and they think they can satisfy most if not all requests tells me there should be more happy people than usual.  That being said if someone only puts GA for their choices, that has a finite amount of tickets, they are setting themselves up to be disappointed.  But if they put RES, even as secondary choices most people should at least get tickets to the shows...and the extra good news if you are a long time member your seats will still be based on seniority for the RES seats.

I never lost an F5. I lost my only choice for Cincinnati in 2014, but ended up in the venue anyway thru TM tickets.

    I was 100% on the 2016 tour.

I agree that this way is a lot less stressful. I think it is ultimately the best way to sell tickets thru the 10club.

I love it.  I have less success than the F5 system, but I don't need to take a day off of work to try for tickets.

i was here for 1 of the index card tours in '98. . .i liked that too. . .i always took a day off from work to be online when the shows went on sale so i almost always got tickets for the F5 days, even though it was a pain in the ass. . .i like this way in theory the problem is i almost NEVER get tickets anymore through the fan club. . .and yes its mainly been for northeast shows but ive put in for Chicago and also Florida on the last tour and had no success with them either

I love the lottery and you know it's fair.

Also in this last run for Euro tickets, people who missed out on the lottery for some shows were given pre-sale access which was before the official pre-sale before the main sale. You know if you miss out on the lottery you have 2 more chances, maybe 3 and if that fails then the board always throws tickets up.

I don't think there has been a PJ in the past recent past that I have wanted to go to and not been able to get tickets for.

I still have the original order form for the 1995 tour. You checked off your shows and sent in a personal check, yes a CHECK, kiddos. no money order needed.

The greatest asset is the community of fans who are always happy and eager to share spares with fellow fans ensuring most who want to get in are able to. Regardless of ticket distribution methods, tickets end up with good people.

The best tickets I ever got was for the Merriweather Post Pavillion Show in 1998 through the old index card system.   Was awesome !! I had Row AAA and thought it was the 53 Row not the front row ... I would not have had so much to drink if
    I had known !!

As for thr the new system.  Not gonna complain.  I feel they are trying to do what is most fair to everyone IMO.  What I find ridiculous are the people who buy multiple memberships who are complains about possibly not being able to move their tickets if they win more than once for a show.  I smh at those posts like “is that really your biggest problem in life ?”  As I would love for that to be my biggest issue I face !

Thanks 10c for giving us the opportunity to see this band !

F5 sucked but I was successful

    i would like to see:
Some shows on an arena tour reserved with 1,2,9,10 lottery rows. Not NY but some less popular places.
Lottery is for show only, check box if you don’t want GA. Second draw for reserved or GA that way you are committed to reserved if you don’t get GA. It’ll reduce demand and groups gaming the GA.

F5 for PJ20 .... was a gut wrenching experience that was, and it eventually paid off after hours of sitting in front of that computer !!

The hotel within walking distance to the venue was awesome .... on the walk back from the show I was trying to figure out where the hell the golf course popped up from,  as I didnt remember it on the walk to the show !! Such agreat time was had a PJ20 !!

    F5 Baby !!!!

This, to me would fix the system more than anything.  People wouldn't be spiking the pot with 'extra' 6XX,XXX member numbers.  If tickets were still distributed the day of the show it would be a great surprise to get GA, and people wouldn't have to queue in the arms race which has spanned multiple days now. They can queue when they receive tickets and the 10c can set a randomized line system (or even print order of entry on the GA tickets).  It would also restore a normal bell curve of member #s in reserved seating.

Love the new system and also love GA. I do however sympathize with those that live in the northeast and have a hard time getting tickets. I live in Sandiego and have gotten every show I’ve put in for on the west coast and some on the east coast like Greenville.  You can put GA in for your 3rd or 4th choice out here and still get it. There also is definitely a strategy for getting tickets and I think when you put in for the high demand shows like Ny, you risk getting no tickets.

I like it. The previous system where you had to be at your computer at like 1 or 2pm on like a Tuesday or Wednesday, and sit there FOREVER as the site crashes over and over was brutal.

Yeah I prefer the Bruce lottery GA way. As example:

That would definitely be cool. Although I’m a little torn because I feel like if you are willing to sleep outside to get the rail, then more power to ya. I personally never would because I like enjoying the city and have always been able to walk in about 90 minutes before the show and stil get about 4 rows from the rail. But Springsteen’s system does seem very cool.

I have never been thrilled with the new lottery system.  I am an increasingly old fart curmudgeon when it comes to this stuff.  My favorite fanclub ticketing experiences were 1996 (though I wish I had been wise enough to select one or two more shows that were not 100% GA like Randall's Island) and the 2003 and 2005 tours when you basically got in it seems where ever you wanted to go.

I did well in 2016, but that was only really because I won night two Fenway.  I ended up with reserved seating at Philly night 2 and given my number was somewhat disappointed with the location.  Night 2 at Fenway was tremendous.  I am hoping that this talk of more tickets means better odds, and that IF things don't work out via fanclub for any of the 3 shows I want to attend that verified fan will work it out.

    +1
There are the same people standing in front for stretches of shows

i thought this was the reason they went to GA in the first place but now it seems the rail freaks just go GA.
yup.  The first time I noticed how crazy people were for rail was at brooklyn 1 , 2013.  Toward the end of the show maybe with 2 or 3 songs left I saw some people who were up front leave early.  I was like, what the heck?  How could you leave early?  As I walked out of the show I saw these same people already lined up for night 2.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......
