    The Statue was installed before the founders could imagine such a high powered welfare system.  Is that how it goes?

    Seeing how they owned slaves I’m guessing poverty was far down the list of concerns. Applying modern day values to 18th century values doesn’t compute. Picking and choosing what we think the founders wanted to prop up one side of an argument doesn’t work either.

    funny all i see here in NY is immigrants cutting everyone's lawns , serving everybody's food or cleaning the tables , tearing roofs off houses , laying bricks uhmm what else i'd say they do contribute a whole lot of sweat & blood ....

    You're trying to create some sort of equivalence between what created America (too many immigrants),  and what is destroying America (too many guns)
