since Google is the flavor of the days...

    http://m.consumerwatchdog.org/viewdata.php?nid=66664

Friday, a group of more than 60 individuals and organizations committed to the protection of trafficking victims issued a statement expressing deep concern over the pervasive misinformation Big Tech supporters were offering. Among those criticizing Google for its hypocrisy was the National Center on Sexual Exploitation.

“You would think a company whose motto is ‘don’t be evil’ would think twice before choosing the side of sex traffickers,” said Patrick Trueman, president of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation. “Google lobbyists are bombarding members of Congress with emails against passage of the only legislation that will dramatically decrease sex trafficking of girls, boys, and adults online. This is a case of Big Tech caring more about its bottom line than the victims of serial rape for profit.”

http://disobedientmedia.com/member-of-dc-anti-fascist-coalition-penned-defenses-of-adult-child-sex-in-late-1990s/ Interesting turn of events... On January 16th, 2017, journalist James O’Keefe and Project Veritas released the first part of footage they had shot documenting attempts by the Anti-Fascist Coalition to commit acts of civil disobedience and protest during Donald Trump’s Presidential Inauguration on January 20th. The video reveals that during the investigation Project Veritas journalists met undercover with members of the Anti-Fascist Coalition, Luke Kuhn and Scott Green, at Comet Ping Pong to discuss ways to disrupt the “Deploraball” Inauguration event. Comet Ping Pong is a Washington D.C. pizza parlor which gained notoriety in late 2016 when online activists accused its owner, James Alefantis, of participating in child human trafficking. The scandal has been termed “Pizzagate” by the media. (If you are told pizzagate is about Hilliary Clinton running a pedophile ring out of Comet Ping Pong Pizza, your probably OD'ing on fake news, immediately seek fake news rehab)
How about you quit posting about Hillary Clinton and Comet Pizza in a thread (made by you) about pedophilia and child trafficking. This is why you have no credibility.
The only people making this about Hillary are the pedo-deniers such as yourself. I'll say it again, this isn't about a particular person or political party, if you review the first post you will see that it spans the globe and is not limited to democrats or republicans (hastert!). As I have already stated, the continual attempts to coop or make this "political" has continually failed, but I applaud your effort.

Can you state the number of alleged victims that have come forward in the Larry Nassar USA Gymnastics sexual abuse case?

Was going to comment on that. Does that mean JC doesn't believe that Nassar's conviction was valid? He was convicted. These victims are speaking at his sentencing hearing.

BTW - just in - Judge sentenced that asshole to "up to 175 years". The judge told him "I signed your death warrant."

I only used alleged because the number he was tried on and convicted is 150 and the number of statements reached around 190.
"Decades of abuse" more than 150 kids! What took so long? In any event its a good thing these types of abuses over decades is limited to a few priests, a few coaches, a hollywood exec or two and the random politician.

Oh for fucks sake you've got to be trolling with that comment. Or an attempt at horrible humor?
Limited. So you think there aren't untold amounts of victims who will never come forward for various reasons?

The Nasser thing should be getting big headlines.  There was an entire culture, both at USGA and MSU, of indifference and putting reputation first over basic human decency.  We've seen it in the catholic church, Penn State, Baylor etc. and I'm sure it's exits and endless public, private, and non-profit organizations.  How can the culture of enabling be overcome?

Burn it down. Burn it all down. Make penalties sweeping, harsh, and long-term. And maybe, just maybe, start taking women (and other victims) seriously, stop victim-blaming, stop victim-shaming, stop being afraid of making the effort to do the right thing. Stop being complacent.

There are places in Asia where women are second class citizens all the way. In India and Singapore a husband is still allowed by law to rape his wife as long as she's older than 13 years old. so I'd say it's pretty likely that Asia has some issues with equal pay too, lol. In Russia, women are forbidden from working in “hard, dangerous and/or unhealthy trades", which includes stuff like driving trains and firefighting, and in China women aren't allowed to work in mines or do any of the "hard" physical labour jobs. In Malta men are still allowed to abduct a woman, force her to marry him, and then be free from persecution. So yeah, from our view, the US and Canada aren't doing well with pay equity... but we're also doing a hell of a lot better with female equality than plenty of places in Europe and Asia.

So yeah, from our view, the US and Canada aren't doing well with pay equity... but we're also doing a hell of a lot better with female equality than plenty of places in Europe and Asia.
I was thinking more about the politicos, entertainment industry and business leaders than society as a whole. I’m well aware of how women are treated in different countries and cultures. Is there something uniquely American about males with power and their abuse thereof?
hell no... it's been this way since recorded history.  We're at our most progressed state today.

Stop being complicit and equal pay for equal work. Do any European countries have this problem to the extent that the US does? Or Asia?

US Olympic committee calls on entire USA gymnastics board to resign after assault scandal

"The U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) is now calling for every member of the USA Gymnastics board to resign by the end of the month, as a fresh start for the organization after a sexual assault scandal involving one of its former doctors.

Scott Blackmun, CEO of the USOC, sent an email to the USA Gymnastics (USAG) board Thursday saying it would lose its status as the nation's governing organization for gymnastics unless each member resigned by Jan. 31, according to USA Today

The USOC will also decertify the organization if it does not put an interim board in place by Feb. 28, Blackmun said in the email. "

I don't think so. Males with power abuse that power all over the world. Are there places that do better with this than America? Yes, but not many.

I wonder if taking this strong chance is a calculated move to get ahead of accusations against the USOC.

Shit, I wonder what that means for the students and faculty and staff at MSU? That's a lot of money. How's the compensation being funded I wonder? (no, I'm not suggesting the settlement isn't fair or anything like that)

MSU is self funding and will then sue their insurance companies to get the the money back.
