The Bon Iver 22 a Million album isn't for me.  I've spun it twice and did not like it at all.  Very different from his previous stuff, but hey, maybe it'll grow on me.

Loved the 5 piece trombone section & seeing Bruce Hornsby play with Justin on Beth/Rest.
INCREDIBLE show...but yeah, I'd consider it more of a Justin Vernon solo show than a Bon Iver one!!

Ya, it's been a rough year for music.  Saw Soundgarden a week before Chris passed.  I almost went to their Birmingham show too which was after Atlanta.  Tom Petty was another one that was a tough loss.  Just grateful and blessed that I got to see both of them.

In the only year that PJ has never played a full show, I made lemonade out of lemons and logged the most concerts in my life.  I loved them all, so here they are in chronological order:

The worst opening act seen-to-date award:
10/20 Death Grips (opened for Ministry)- The Agora, Cleveland.

*Yes, I realize that there are three in the #1 position.
    - The Lumineers made 12,000 people feel like they were sitting in an intimate show in their living room.
    - The National was, well, The National.  :deep breath in and tears in my eyes:  A beautiful night of music.  To me, they are a follow-to-see band.  Just beyond thankful that I was able to go experience this live.

    - Natalie Merchant was one of those concerts that had such an emotional release that I was left in tears for the first three songs-- so much so that I was barely able to see and my daughter reached over and patted me on the knee.  Tears welled in my eyes and poured down my cheeks.  Such beautiful music that just reached in and hugged my heart.

Anything you lose from being honest
You never really had to begin with.

Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.
