Scuff marks on the album sleeves in the vinyl box??

Just picked up my box set from the post office.

There are lots of scuff marks on pretty much all the (non plastic wrapped) album sleeves. At a first glance it's on at least Binaural, Yield, Avocado and Riot Act. These are new albums. and they are tight in the box so it couldn't have happened during shipping or something like that. People putting them in must have done so even with clearly damaged sleeves.

Anyone else have had this experience and this damage on the sleeves in the box?

  • I did to both avocado and Ten. I haven’t contacted 10c yet, but I’m planning on it.

shelf wear from sitting on the shelf in 10c’s warehouse? Totally lame!

My Riot Act, Binaural and Self Titled all had ring wear and best of all at least one record in each album was warped.  Kind of crazy.

Yea, I wish these had been packaged in loose bags. The tight shrink in addition to the large thick books are a perfect recipe for warping and ring wear.

Dang. Seems like this shouldn't happen.

    It's not PJ's fault though

Didn't get the complete box set, but got Ten, Binaural, Riot Act, and Avocado - all had some minor warping and the center holes were very tight going onto my turntable. Also, corner of Avocado jacket was bent. Was the only one, so obviously happened prior to packing, as the box they arrived in was fine. Sent this picture to 10C and they said they'll replace it contingent on me sending them pictures of it showing I cut it up/destroyed it. Kind of lame that I have to have two loose records while waiting for the replacement. Does an empty, bent up LP jacket have some sort of resale value?!

Aside from vaults, 10c packaging of records is not very good. I've received similar in the past

thats sucks, if they were your playing copies I'd let be, if saving for collection and putting away then I prob send an email.  After its all said and done, prob cost you more $$, and good music shouldn't be destroyed.

I wouldn't love it, but I would just live with it, especially since I have no intention of selling my records. If someone is buying with the intent of maintaining resale value, that's another story. I'm not saying you should accept it - I'm just saying that I would. That said, it's still not actually acceptable that 10C is sending out merchandise in this condition (I'm also not really surprised - they have so many issue with quality control on their albums, one way or another).
I would be less willing to accept the kind of damage drummerboy73 posted though. That's too much. That kind of compromises the integrity of the jacket's purpose.

my copy of Self Titled was scratched to hell.

and the liner notes looked like Santos ran out of toilet paper and wiped his ass with them.

I don't see any reason for you to talk shit - literally - about Santos L. Halper.
    Get a grip, folks.
If you received defective merchandise simply contact Ten Club and tell them about it.

dude. it was a joke.... I love Santos.

since we don't know what goes on in the 10club warehouse I come up with these crazy thoughts.

Santos does his best with limited help. I have even joked with him in PMs.

I don't want anyone to think that I was pissed at him.

all the defects were in the manufacturing process.

just trying to bring back some humour and fun that has been missing on these boards since about 2015.

see this guy knows me ^

and Santos probably would prefer the pennants to the liner notes anyway.
