I think what all this really means is that there's a strong possibility we get a new album by June. I could see a 10 - 12 show fall tour mostly hitting the West coast of NA.
My hopes aren’t super high for a new album but this does smell a little like 2009 when backspacer came out. Tour Europe before album release, debut a couple new songs there, then album drop and some US dates in the fall.

You'd think it would be a Fall USA Tour. But, where in the USA?
before fall there is some nice period called summer.....:)

I hope it would be Fall (if anything) - I can't stand summer tours!

Well, besides a couple festivals they haven't played the West Coast since 2013, so they should definitely do that, especially considering that they live there FFS, lol.
Yes, west coast is overdue. I actually looked at flights to Amsterdam today... but decided that was crazy. And too expensive. Fingers crossed for a west coast tour

Can't imagine they'll announce anything until after the holidays, and if they end up doing a fest (ACL, Lolla) in the US that would push back the announcement even further. I'm getting a feeling that they'll do a fest or two in the US with other supporting dates on the coast(s).

Rumours have them doing some Stadium shows.   It makes me wonder when those would be.  They don't seem to tour during baseball playoffs.   August/September maybe?  If it were arena's I would think Nov/dec (like 2013) after baseball season... but outdoor venues would make you think sooner.

No, no, no. They did summer tours in the US in '06 and '08. But yeah, it's amazing to think they haven't really done a summer tour in the US in a decade.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Totally forget about '06, I stand corrected. 08 was way early in summer (no July or august) so again I stand corrected event thought that wasn't a summer tour so to speak. But yes, over a decade is crazy!!! We need a proper summer tour in the u.s.!

I was hoping for a couple of east coast shows in the spring just before they leave for Europe. MSG and maybe a festival like Boston Calling in May.

I know I’m in the minority here, but I’d like to see some amphitheater shows in the summer. I’m sick of basketball/hockey arenas. I love the outdoors!

Yes. They will play ACL in October and there will be a few dates around the festival performances.
Caveat: I am only saying this because I already have tickets to ACL :) The timing seems right though. I know nothing :)

Fall means more time to save money and it will probably be just me hitting shows that align with work travel. Summer means my daughter is out of school so we can incorporate some shows in a family vacation if we bring a sitter for the shows.
