    republicans aren't dumber than you. they just have different values. and just like you wanted to vote for hillary, as corrupt and money and war hungry as the right thinks she is, and as some of the left believes she is, were wiling to vote her in. they didn't want to risk their military lives for her supposed war mongering ways. not to mention you'll never in our lifetime hear a republican wanting to slash the military at the same time as sending them off to war. that just doesn't happen. 

    I think, as much as even I have been a party to the trump-bashing, it would be infinitely more productive to find ways to constructively criticize him and his admin in a way that may actually sway some voters into thinking a bit differently in 3 years. instead of just the "fuck you are all idiots" mantra. that won't work. if anything, it will make things worse and make his base dig their heels in even deeper. 
    You could flip this and accuse Trump supporters and republicans in general as being anti-education and bigger bullies. They’re the ones regularly attacking the great equalizer, public and higher education. Mocking it and fact based scholarship, attacking college endowments and mocking liberal politicians for their educational achievement. Remember SOS Kerry for, god forbid, being fluent in French? Or Obama for attending Harvard Law and being professorial? GWB goes to Harvard Business School and by golly, he’s fit to be president, despite a lack of success in the private sector. AThe constant harping by the right on the US education system is a deliberate and concerted effort to dumb down the populace to their advantage. You get support for a tax bill by making it sound like a win when in fact you know it’s not and that your base is too dumb to figure it out. Look at the unemployment rates. Which category of education level attained has the highest unemployment rate? And the funny thing is, their too stupid to do what their party tells them, pull yourself up by their bootstraps and quit complaining. No sympathy, fuck them. I hope someone goes and talks to those coal miners in 2019 and those Carrier workers and ask them who they intend to support.

    Last year, what was it? A 5% chance of winning? I would benlower than that now. I don’t see it going much higher if he’s still around in 2020.

    But even with that the loser is gonna get what? a minimum of 46/47% of the vote? That is crazy and way too close to 50-50.

    To a large degree, Trump's victory explains why he said, "I love the poorly educated" when campaigning.

    He needed simple people to buy his act. Anyone with half a brain knew he was a f**king tool, but to the moron... 'Make America Great Again' (with a good dose of winning) was all that was necessary.

    The scary thing is that everybody knew there were going to be a chunk of voters that were stupid enough to vote for the guy; however, I'm not sure anybody knew the magnitude that chunk of voters would amount to. There's a lot of stupid out there.

    I'm hoping for impeachment. Polls aside, I'm not sure the next election is a slam dunk. It might be wishful thinking to think he's a one term guy.

    It has to just be absolute chaos behind the scenes.  There is no way anyone can convince me that any of his legitimate advisors congratulate him for tweeting this nonsense.  

    My guess is that they avoid the subject at all cost when in tRump's presence but likely are horrified behind the scenes.

    I can't quite understand why someone (Mattis, Tillerson, etc) hasn't blown the roof off yet.  There is only so much bullshit one person can stand.

    I see it the other way. Kids are seeing how not to be because a lot of people are responding to the garbage and calling it out. trump is here because of the old farts in the country. The younger people were floored from him getting elected. Thus the term snowflake.  What that actually was was a generation feeling betrayed because they were raised being told the US is a country where people are treated equally and have equal opportunity. I see this energizing the youth, in particular young women.
