Also scored Soul Asylum tickets today. Not that they would be hard to get these days. Though it is First Ave, so maybe?
  • It's just Dave now, so probably not as hard to get these days.
I did see SA with Guided By Voices and Suicide Commandos this summer, and that was a pretty great show, however,

  • I hope the band checks the porch and sees this has been on the front page for a while. Ten thousand responses gets a show? :-)

Can Al Franken pull some strings for a hometown show?

Ugg, this one doesn't change my mind about Sen Franken.. He apologized swiftly which is good. The "forced kiss" might be a misunderstood joke, and this picture is in poor taste which he acknowledged. he's not groping her. This is not the same as nasty old men who are groping women and making them scared for their future career. I'm sensitive to those stories for sure! This one on the other hand, it seems like someone is just sharing a story to be part of the #metoo group. If this woman was seriously affected by this and her life if forever changed, then who am I to say different.. It's just a little hard to get behind. Then again, I'm a gal with thick skin around guys and am probably a little naive about things.. and I've never been in questionable circumstances... so I may be way off base.

Again, I'm very proud of the movement going on.. it's about dang time women are being listened to and people are believing them.

i mean, it's not a good look. and not right now. he was a public figure then and had been for years, he should know better to not do something like that, whether he's touching her or not, let alone have a photo taken. it's incredibly disappointing. yes, he acknowledged that, so i guess there's that when so many others are making excuses rather than own up to it, but still. c'mon, dude, you're above college age shenanigans on a freakin' uso trip.

Target Field is located in Minneapolis, and I imagine would have better acoustics than US Bank Stadium.  PJ, please don't play US Bank Stadium!

Target Field is a great venue for sports and concerts.  Best in the Twin Cities for sports, and the buzz about PJ at Target Field - at least for me - is because of PJ's affinity for baseball and (apparently) for the Twins.  Beautiful sight lines, great concourses.  Mid summer night there can't be beaten with baseball as the focus.  With PJ?  Get outta here.

As far as the whole ballpark vs. arena debate...I'll take PJ where I can get them.  Yes, that means festivals, ballparks or arenas.  I might have my preferences (arena), but two of my top shows all time were in 2016.  At a ballpark.  So while the hassle is bigger, I think it's untrue that you get a worse show if it's in a ballpark.

When your favorite band is comprised of members who are all 50+, in the wake of Prince and Tom Petty (e.g. musicians who died too young), it's hard to be picky.  If they're willing to play somewhere, I'm hard pressed to object or complain.

The other part of the PJ at Target Field buzz is, full disclosure, what I've been told by a friend at the Twins who has proven to be reliable at accurate with TC concert news.  He's told me that PJ and the Twins (whose ownership includes Bill Pohlad, who produced "Into The Wild") have had discussions before about a show there.  My source's words: "[PJ] has a standing offer to play there."

So the buzz consists of it being a cool ballpark, and the fact that - again, for me - a belief that it's possibly not just a pipe dream and could realistically happen.

Pop country acts, Billy Joel and the eagles are the last few bands/artists at target field.

We can do A LOT better, Minnesota.

Waiting to see what happens in the fall of 2018. I've heard some distant rumblings of U.S. dates after the summer European shows.
