Star Wars Thread

While there is probably already a main Star Wars thread, but I thought I would start one up. I also realize that there's only a week left until Episode 7, but I just wanted to know everyone's thoughts on your views of how the new film will be?

In general though, this is still just a simple Star Wars thread about all the films, shows, comics, novels, etc.

LET'S GO!

My daughter asked that we go as a family to see the newest movie on her birthday. It will be my first Star Wars film. I'm not a Star Wars girl. My husband and daughter are obsessed. I'm going in with an open mind.

Just reading now that Kenny Baker (R2-D2) has passed. Thanks for his help (along with the technical people, lol) in making R2 one of (if not THE) most interesting pop culture robot of my youth, R.I.P..

In all the times I've watched the prequels, I only just noticed someone listed with the title "Javva the Hutt" in the credits of AOTC, lol.

We have tickets for opening night. Thursday, December 14. A month from yesterday! To say I am excited would be an understatement.

FYI...If you are avoiding spoilers DO NOT READ the review in Variety. There are things mentioned in it that should not be included in an allegedly spoiler-free review.

Tonight's the night! Even the girlfriend is excited. I see there are some new posts in the spoiler thread but I'm not clicking on that again till after I see the film.

I rewatched The Force Awakens last night. I thoroughly love that movie. Thankful for every second Han Solo was on screen. I was always a Han guy more than a Luke guy. Realized because of that how different it will be tonight.

I'm controlling expectations but not excitement. This should be so much fun!

Well, there is no need for the Academy Awards show this year.  Just throw all the Oscars in a hefty bag and drop them off at the front porch of Skywalker ranch.  Might even have to take some Oscars away from last years subpar stink bombs and give them to the true champs.

I just feel bad for George Lucas selling all rights to Star Wars for 4 BILLION dollars.  Rookie move. Seems like a lot of money but in reality it was chump change.  Disney will clear that deal on this movie alone by the time the New Years ball drops.

    Didn't Lucas ever watch Spaceballs???

Like the dude buying two pizzas for 10,000 Bitcoins in 2006 only to find out they will sell for a kabillian dollars a decade later.

    SAD!
