I have always had to work more than one job to try to keep my family afloat
I'd love to have more time to play and dream, but if I took it, we'd be in Trouble
I value my husband for many reasons but perhaps one of his biggest gifts to me
has been helping me raise our Autistic son when he was young and difficult
And, he has been my partner working to care for our family thru thick and thin
Maybe other people can take a spouse like that for granted?
I can't.
I'm grateful for him.
He has been a loyal helpmate for over 25 years
Years ago, I would have accepted and been grateful for help from friends
and yet, none was offered or given
At some point, fair weather friends need to be cut loose
Don't be the person who only calls when you need something
instead, be the friend, the husband, the partner who stands by
year in and year out
That's the wisdom I gained over the last ten years
Dreaming is an important part of life, but it can't be the ONLY part of it
Love is an active word, a verb,
To love
To love is divine
To love is fine
To love is what we're all here for
