I didn't get the entry level bookstore position. I last worked in a bookstore in 2005, but this is ENTRY LEVEL. I know this stuff! I've been their customer for 14 years. I know what they do. WTH! It's as if the world is stupid.

    Frustrated and sad.  :(

What's on my mind is the fact that I went to the wedding of my best friend's youngest brother tonight. I have known this guy since he was about 8 years old, and he married this super sweet, fun, genuine woman tonight. It was a great time, joyful, and I really felt the love amonst everyone there. It was a great wedding.
    Yay, love! :)

How much I wish sometimes I could keep my mouth shut and my thoughts and feelings to myself.  But it gets crowded in there.  And I forget that people don't give a shit.  Well, back to work...another brick in the wall.

There isn't going to be a Bridge School Concert this year because of Neil Young's departure from it, so no.

Thanks. I do. And it's just one, not plural, so it shouldn't be too hard not to speak.

Gnashing belly munchers in my gut driven by anxiety as I watch the hour in the dentists office approach.  Am I a wuss, a totally crybaby when it comes to going to the dentist?  When it comes to work like crowns, ohhhhhh yeah.  :frowning:

When preemies are born, and they need surgery the hospital staff give them sugar water so that they don't feel the pain of an anesthetic needle. When I walk down the street and my feet hurt I think of how to bake a chocolate cake. So, it seems that maybe humans are programmed to cancel one pain if we think of pleasure. If thinking of something that is good doesn't divert your pain feelings then maybe the dentist will offer laughing gas. I had a dentist that offered laughing gas, and he was my favorite dentist.

I'm just wondering if I'm the only person who does not admire Hugh Hefner? I think that, despite the philanthropic things he did over the years, which on their own absolutely deserve praise, his main interest in life was sexually objectifying women and making that "awesome" - I'm not sure how or why some folks seem compelled to give him credit in terms of the "sexual revolution" (which is a real thing, but the normalization of porn is not the definition of it or the flag to fly in its honour to say the least). His brand of sexualization - his fucking Playboy Bunnies, et all - is not a positive thing in terms of women's lib at all. It kind of bugs me that he's being treated like some kind of hero now that he's dead (and was while he was alive as well). I don't want to dance on his grave, but the adoration being expressed for him today, as though he's some shining beacon in American society, is irritating me a bit.

Even Swedish TV news had this when he died. How could that be news in Sweden? and it was like a tribute to him. I always hated Playboy Bunnies and everything they stand for. And I don't care if Hefner is alive or dead. He made lots of money out of objectifying women. Ugh!
