Let's get some Alice in Chains vinyl reissues going

The MOV's were fantastic! How bout some vinyl love for Facelift and Self-titled? 1st pressing of Live? Maybe Sony starting to press vinyl again after a 30 year hiatus will get this going. The completest in me is starting to get the shakes!

Absolutely! I only need a couple to complete the discography on vinyl.

At least AIC's CDs sound really good. I don't notice a drastic improvement with their records compared to some other bands. They had the CD format pretty well figured out by the time Dirt came out.

I would love to get the self titled on vinyl.

I don't listen to AIC too much, but when I do, that's the album I typically reach for first. (I never got into the Duvall era - I've seen them live twice with him, but more for the nostalgia of the old songs)

Yeah I can't bring myself to spend $150+ on self titled and all the Facelift foreign presses are in the hundreds. I spent $120 on a pretty mint No Code like 5 years ago and just scored a sweet OG Ten recently for $100. That's about my max.

    I'm buying something AIC today
    Hopefully the "live"album

What live album? I caved and picked up a sweet copy of Tripod for $125 a couple of weeks ago from bflynn.

    It's simply titled "live"

I know this question wasn't directed at me but.....I bought Live Facelift last week for $15.00.

Never knew it existed until I came across it at a record store.

Good performance and good recording for them. Definitely worth the cost of admission.

And BUMP for more AIC love!

Yep....  Facelift, self titled, Live... These albums (not imports) need to be released for us music hounds.... Surely Cantrell can understand.

Live Facelift is amazing. $ 15 is a bargain.

I'm surprised they haven't been reissued.  Out of the big rock albums of the early 90s, all PJ's albums have now been reissued, Nirvana's get reissued all the time, Soundgarden's have all been reissued, all the good Pumpkins albums have been reissued, STP's have all been reissued.

The two AIC albums (and three if you include live) seem like odd holdouts.   I thought they would of come out after the unplugged/dirt/sap/jar of flies got reissues, but they never did.

I'm lucky because my wife bought a brazilian pressing of facelift just around the time vinyl was getting popular again, and I bought tripod myself around the same time.  Long before the prices for old 90's vinyl went over the $100 mark.... Everyone should be able to own them :)

I've seen a number of copies of Alice in Chains but never at a reasonable price. That's the one I want the most. I'll keep my fingers crossed and jump on it as soon as it's released.

Of their studio albums, I have a feeling that it would lend itself well to the vinyl format better than the rest.

Happy 25th B-Day to the essential grunge album, Dirt. What a shot to the gut this album was. I didn't fully discover it beyond the radio singles for a few more years, when I had a job and bought every rock CD of the time. We could use an anniversary edition remastered for vinyl :)
    It's a hopeless situation...

Mine isn't red but I wouldn't doubt that it is a reissue. Considering the price I paid, it would almost have to be.

    Sounds very good though.

It was but in the context of the thread it's not their first studio album, it's the music from a live video they put out (from that the tour of facelift).

You got me thinking though.  I was wondering if they ever released Live Facelift on DVD.  All I could find was some unofficial dvd's and a genuine laserdisc.   Now I want to see the video get a proper release :)
