In his latest book, Before the Chop III, Henry Rollins goes to to Chile and discovers some great Chilean rock bands.  I've got some of this stuff on order and am totally STOKED and can't wait for the to show up.  Here are a few samples:

Not a new band (seems to have formed in 2002?), but new to me: ... And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead. <-- Yeah, that's the band name, lol. Anyway, just stumbled upon them today on Spotify, and actually they're very good! And they have several albums, from 2002 to 2014.

I they have some vinyl people are always preordering on vinylcollective.  Lots of people seem to dig em

Protomartyr, a 4 piece band from Detroit doing post-punk type music reminiscent of Nick Cave, The Fall, early R.E.M. and Fugazi, but definitely their own thing. Their album The Agent Intellect is fucking good..

Absolutely.  Caught these guys in Omaha at Sokol Auditorium a couple weekends ago.  Absolutely fantastic show.  Super young dudes, but their sound is way beyond their years.  Draws obvious Led Zeppelin comparisons.  Catch them if you can.  They're in clubs now, but coming to arenas real soon.

These guys aren't new, but they're new to me! I just randomly discovered them on Spotify and I've been listening to everything they've done for the past couple of days and really loving it! I can't get enough, actually. I'm quite taken with them, lol.  https://open.spotify.com/artist/4bR4Ul1AtneW7Bae9jzNzh

  • I've been getting into a jam band called Spafford and they're pretty good. Definitely influenced by Phish and Umphrey's Mcgee.
