Our formerly small potato Georgie is seven years old today!  Can't imagine life without him and the Beans.
(and yes, we guessed his "birthday" based on his estimated age when we adopted him)

old pic of here after she was cleaning them out.  Had to take a pic of it.  Doesn't happen to often that both ears of a cat stay like that for long, plus the look on hr face was great.

This is Crystal! She is quite the character. I never wanted or even liked cats for a while. But that changed with this girl.

Like me, Annie has taken on the latest food craze: blueberries.  I posted about here loving asparagus and one of you pointed out that too much asparagus can cause urinary tact infections in felines (thank you!) so she gets just a little taste once in a long while.  If any of you know of problems with cats eating blueberries, please let me know! (I only give here one or two small ones.)  Thanks!

What a beauty! The sink shot is excellent.
  • Good photos!

Our cat Mika is a nut. We love her. So curious and so loving and so goofy.

Here she is busted on the counter:

    "My brain's a good brain!"
  • Mika displaying her athleticism:

  • Mika done for a while nestled in my legs:

Calvin! Tell him Hobbes says, "hi".

Love the attitude on Mika. "Yeah, I'm on the counter. Whatcha gonna do about it?"

    Love all these pictures.
Same here!  They are just gorgeous.

(Lizard, thanks! - twin spotted bellies :) )

Thirty, how do you deal with her climbing on curtains and I assume her clawing of same?  Our couches are destroyed and we want to get a nice set of something in leather but, you know...CATS.
  • My family is bugging me to relent and get a second cat. When I see those pictures of those two together... it makes me think a bit.

Do it!!!  I'd say to get a male though.  George was all-in from day one, but Beans being older took a bit to accept him.  They love each other like brother and sister, and one of my day's highlights is coming home for lunch and seeing them chilling on the couch together.

In the end, I say it's a win/win.  Your family gets twice the cuteness and love, and a kitty out there gets a loving home for life.

    Heard Hedo! And maybe.

    * Here's a situation we have w Mika: she is relentless with her litter. We went through- not kidding- 4 litter boxes finally settling on something that has at least curbed the problem (it's a litter box that is enclosed w stairs and a 90 degree turn off the stairs into the litter). If left to do so... she will hammer at her litter until the litter box is emptied.

There were times when we could hear her downstairs working it- litter hitting the walls and being sprayed everywhere. We would go down to check and it would be in every corner of the room.

We want her to be more subtle. Any suggestions?

I have two cats, one is normal except for his morbid obesity, the other-Calvin, is like having the most amazing cat in the world, plays fetch, meows at you when you talk to him, comes running to check on my boys if one of them is crying.  He has one problem though...the litter situation.  I was in the same boat as you and then I decided that I needed a litter box for one cat and a "dry" box for the other.  Cal pees in the litter box but definitely takes advantage of the dry box.  Maybe try the two box idea-Mika might be OCD like Calvin.
