I just saw the deadline date. I doubt he would be able to get his students to fill out the app and submit in one day. At least I can let him know and he will be ready next year!

We are psyched to announce the 2017 Global Citizen Curtis Scholars, founded by Pearl Jam's manager and funded by the band's Vitalogy Foundation. This scholarship program is open to U.S. citizens between 16 and 20 years old from traditionally underrepresented communities.

Global Citizen reviewed hundreds of winners and selected six 2017 Curtis Scholars from Arizona, North Carolina, Texas, Louisiana, Pennsylvania and New York. This 2017 Curtis Scholarship video highlights them being selected.

The Curtis Global scholars will now begin their year-long mentorship program as part of a network of youth advocates and community leaders committed to local and global action.  They will also join Global Citizen advocacy team members on a ten-day experiential learning trip through South Africa, experiencing development programs focused on poverty alleviation.

Pearl Jam’s manager Kelly Curtis said of the scholarships, "It’s an honor to be able to help pave the way for the next generation of activists, leaders and global citizens who are committed to making the world a better place.”
