    Unsung:

do you believe Climate Change is real and actually occurring?

if so, do you believe human behavior is causing/accelerating it?

    honest question

    honest question

Because "global warming" was a misleading term, especially to those who didn't understand its ramifications. Yes, the planet as a whole is warming. However, the results of that are not just places getting warmer. Global warming results in what is better described as climate change, because the warming can actually cause many changes in climate that don't involve or don't just involve warmer climates. It involves stronger storms, sometimes more rain or snow in various places, etc. Climate change is simply a better phrase to indicate what people are actually experiencing. I.e. "global warming" can actually result in more freak snow storms in Texas, more rain/flooding in other places, stronger hurricanes in other places, or whatever. Basically, they changed it from global warming to climate change for the benefit of all the dumbos who say "global warming my ass!!" every time it snows, lol. Clearly, they underestimated the stupidity of these people.

Can I ask why you seem suspicious of the evolution of the term being used?

I could care less about it because you're reaching. US states do business with foreign multinationals all the time. Often times after representatives of a foreign government visit the state thats trying to woo foreign business to hire their citizens. It's called a global economy for a reason. Now, about that "well regulated militia." Funny how the alt-right suddenly cares.

I don't subscribe to the climate change cult.

The climate has changed for the entire existence of the planet.   Are there things we can do to make the world better?  Sure.  But I shouldn't be forced to buy a certain lightbulb when it is scorched earth in China to mine the materials.

The US is the second biggest polluter on the face of the planet after China... also, the energy efficient products like ligthtbulbs are for conserving electricity because there is only so much electricity to go around, and yeah, to reduce coal generated electricity, but also to conserve hydro-electricity, etc so that supply meets demand. Not to mention keeping more lightbulbs out of landfills. That is more about a lack of resources and waste management than it is preventing climate change.
Is there a reason you want old fashioned, inefficient lightbulbs that don't last??

Exactly, and thanks for pointing this out my2hands!

Some people actually believe that most of these scientists are purely in it for the money.  Sure, the ones hired by Shell and Exxon are, of course!  But typical scientists have minds that work in ways that are not at all primarily motivated by money.  In fact, most are very much focused on and often even obsessed by the drive to find out how things tick.  So when 98 percent of these people are say, "Hey world, your screwing it up and we can prevent this", we might want to listen!

Al Gore would have made a decent president and I'm glad be brought some attention to global warming and excess CO2 in the atmosphere but when I talk or think or read about climate science and the scientists who study it, the name Al Gore never crosses my mind.  Nor Neil Young.  You do know the difference between a scientist, a politician and a musician, right?

Which reminds me, did I ever tell you about the time a scientist, a politician and a musician walked into a bar...

Speaking of climate change, I saw this gem from a Trump propagandist on instagram the other day.  The lady who posted it has (at least claims to have) an M. Ed. degree, yet thinks the fucking seasons are what "climate change is."  She included the commentary that follows the picture as a caption, making claims about corporate kickbacks from green energy - but conveniently has amnesia about corruption in the coal and oil industries.  The last sentence appears at the end of all her posts.  People this fucking stupid actually exist in the world.

This pretty much sums it up. The climate fluctuates based on the seasons. Yes ...pollution can cause water and air quality to become poor but it doesn't change the temperature of the atmosphere or the earth. Climate change is the normal fluctuation and has been going on for hundreds of thousands of years. Sadly, too many sheep believe what these billion dollar solar and green energy companies want us to believe and I refuse to believe a hoax. This is manipulated data given to us by big liberal companies and scientists. The scientists that dared to go against climate change/global warming were blackballed and not included in any of the data. Therefore, the only data the government and the companies wanted you to find out about was the data that supported climate change. Since Obama and other leaders of other big countries were getting money kickbacks from these big companies.... they promoted global warming as fact and tried to scare the public. Do your research read about the hoax that is global warming! ~Shutting down idiots one liberal at a time!!!!!!!~

I'd also like to add that it's June 8 and the heat in my apartment kicked on last night. We had more days in the 80s & 90s this past winter than we've had this spring.  The only major snow we saw happened a week into the spring season and it all melted 2 days later when it was 75 degrees.  It seems every week so far this year we've had fluctuations in temperature of 40-50 degrees and back (as in 35 degrees on Monday, 80 on Thursday, and 40 on Saturday).  This is NOT natural!!

We've also  had unusual weather this year here in the foothills with near record rain yet much less than usual frost, and yet HUGE snow pack higher up in the Sierras, and then a warmer than average May with some days in the 90's and now, June 8th, its currently 55 F and raining.

It's been pointed out numerous times that local weather is not a reflection of global climate so none of our individual stories in-of-themselves is a reflection of climate change but the many stories collectively that I've heard I think are.  Add to that the careful and well documented research on climate and I don't see how anyone can deny global warming unless they are getting paid to do so or are blowing smoke or smoking too much or just being contrary (which is not the same as being skeptical).

I don't subscribe to the climate change cult.

The climate has changed for the entire existence of the planet.   Are there things we can do to make the world better?  Sure.  But I shouldn't be forced to buy a certain lightbulb when it is scorched earth in China to mine the materials.

Yeah, it's always someone else's problem to fix.
Start caring about the federal reserve and I'll start caring about some supposed climate change.
    Climate Change has always existed!
    Climate Change doesn't exist!

     doublethink much?
There is climate change, and there is extremist fanatical "climate change" where a bunch of people get rich on the taxpayer's expense.
if climate change was about getting rich, wouldn't these green companies be backing all of the Green Parties of the world and pushing them into office to forward their "extremist fanatical" agendas?

by the way, you believe 98% of climate scientists are fanatical extremists?
    Darwinspeed, all.

University affiliated scientists  are well known to be living high on the hog, while oil company executives slave away for a pittance.
