Kath- died way too young. :frowning:

    Speaking or Terry's, Terry Reid:

I can't believe we got to the bottom of page 2 before someone mentioned Rodrigo y Gabriela!
It always amazes me that it's Gabriela that belts out the percussive rhythms, while Rodrigo plays the delicate leads. She's got hands of steel!

I'd like to add one of my all time favourite guitar players - Jack Rose!

Another that was taken far too young (he was only 38 when he passed), I highly recommend checking him out if you are a fan of acoustic guitars. It doesn't matter where you start: 'Opium Musick', 'Raag Manifestos', 'Luck in the Valley'... take your pick!

^^^ Dave Rawlings, yeah! Him and Gillina Welch together- Bloomfield- one of the best, gone too soon. Danny Whitten too which reminds me- Frank "Pancho" Sampedro, the great Crazy Horse rhythm guitarist with the green thumb. Long live the Horse!
I was listening to Neil Young & Crazy Horse Live at The Fillmore earlier today without realising that it was Danny Whitten's birthday. He would have turned 74 today.

Oh man, for sure, goldrush.  Neil was fortunate to have Frank "Poncho" Sampedro join the Horse but Whitten will always be missed.

I can't believe I have not yet mentioned Rich Millman from the band Carlton Melton.  If any of you like this, please consider picking up one of their great records like "Pass it on...", "Out to Sea" or Photos of Photos".

Here's "When You're In" from "Pass it on..." (that's my buddy Andy Duvall on drums):

No mention of Richard Thompson yet? Or is he in the "etc." portion of the "Gods" list?

I really love the guitar sounds that Mike Johnson contributed to Mark Lanegan's early albums

    Good stuff!

I've often wondered, why isn't  Richard Thompson more famous than he is?  He's an amazing player!

Mine is a little unorthodox but I think Johnny Greenwood is underrated. There's an old PJ article where I believe Ed says that Mike plays the most notes, yet Stone finds the right notes. Johnny finds the right notes and somehow produces other worldly sounds. His playing has evolved with their albums. I think musically he's a genius.

Not exactly lesser known, but George Thorogood is not taken seriously enough, I saw him live a week after Buddy Guy at the same venue and he could hang with Buddy all night long.
