Mike McCready will be making special appearances in Seattle and New York to celebrate the release of his forthcoming photo book, Of Potato Heads and Polaroids: My Life Inside and Out of Pearl Jam, which is available everywhere on Tuesday, May 30.

MAY 30 - SEATTLE - KEXP GATHERING SPACE

The Seattle Of Potato Heads and Polaroids event takes place on book release day, Tuesday, May 30, at KEXP’s Gathering Space in partnership with the Elliott Bay Book Company. The evening begins with a discussion and Q&A with Mike moderated by host of the Afternoon Show and Senior Director of Programming at KEXP, Kevin Cole, followed by a book signing.

This event will be streamed live on Pearl Jam’s Facebook page. An exhibit of a selection of Mike’s photos from the book will be on display for a month starting on the night of the event.

Seattle RSVP and full details at: http://blog.kexp.org/songbook/

JUNE 7 - NEW YORK - STRAND BOOKSTORE

The New York Of Potato Heads and Polaroids event takes place on Wednesday, June 7 at Strand Books in the Rare Book Room. Co-author of Pearl Jam Twenty and longtime Pearl Jam friend, Jonathan Cohen, will moderate a discussion and Q&A with Mike followed by a book signing.

New York RSVP and details at: http://www.strandbooks.com/event/mike-mccready

For both events, please note: Mike will sign/personalize one copy of Of Potato Heads and Polaroids only per person. No other memorabilia or items will be signed. Due to time constraints, Mike will not be available for photographs during the signing portion of the events. Attendees are encouraged to snap pictures (flashless) during the intro and Q&A.

That went fast for NY, should've bought when I had the chance. Does admission + gift card mean you need to bring your own book to be signed, or you don't get anything signed?

I got the signed book option before it sold out but I was wondering the same.

This is looks like it will sell out very quickly after the 10C email was sent.

I was just in and they still had them for NYC.  Looks like they are releasing in bunches. Sometimes both admissions available, sometimes just the 15 admission with gift card.  I didn't check Seattle since I am 3000 miles away!

I don't get it - why does the NYC option make it sound like I'm buying the book again? What option do I pick if I'm bringing the book?

Same. I did general admission because I thought I'd have to buy the book again. So vague...

It's very vague. Usually book signings u have to buy the book there to get it signed. I took it as the admission was just for the Q&A. I could be wrong....

My take in NYC is if you buy the admission you could bring in the book and you will have a $15 credit for anything else in the store. I would think they are giving this option because there was the pre-sale here and some people got the special edition.  If you got the admission with the book, you're getting admission and the book to be signed at the event.
It's a bit confusing but a nice option for people that already pre-ordered.

And of course I could be wrong

Annnnnd, I was wrong.  I looked under The FAQ at the Strand....

If I already own the featured book and/or have books previously published by the same author/artist, may I bring those to the event to be signed?

No. However, we provide additional copies of the featured book, as well as any previously published books we have in stock, at the event for purchase. Please note that if you do not want to purchase another copy of the featured book, you can always purchase a $15 Strand gift card for admittance to the event.
