Now when can we expect the Wrigley boots?

HoccapukHoccapuk Posts: 498

Now that April 10th has come and gone without the much anticipated Wrigley project being unveiled, any ideas on when we can expect them?  Is there truth to the photos from Mr. Tsurt showing the pennants with "lets play two" summer 2017?  Could we possibly see them in the summer?

Either way, I can't wait.  Just like the everyone else who was there.

I don't think the band schedules major releases around the 10th of any given month.  I would expect it this summer, but then again, I expected PJ20 to get a major CD/Blu-Ray/Vinyl release, and that never happened...

For once they actually said they were working on 'something'. Wish we could get more open sharing about plans from the club vs. surprise drops on a Sunday afternoon.

I have my doubts. that "you'll see soon" comment was quite some time ago. it really shouldn't take this long just to get it done. this might be Big Bold and Free 2.0

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but they never said they would be released, as many are assuming. They said they have their reasons for holding them back. It depends on how one reads into it.

I sure hope they release them though.

They prefaced that with "all bootlegs are available except..." though.  Not many ways you can read into that other than they would be releasing them.

They said they had their reasons for holding them back a bit, which implies they are coming out eventually.

It implies nothing. I was there and hope the audio at the very least is released, but I am also a realist.

Nowhere did they say they were coming eventually. That is all fan interpretation.

It really is annoying. They can release the boots and make the precious project bluray or whatever separately

If something has changed and there is no special release coming, let's hope they at least release the audio via NUGS. The Fenway boots sound AWESOME. The little snippets of Corduroy and YL from Wrigley Bill Simmons plays at the beginning and end of his podcast are such a tease. Release the boots! (Please.)

Patience. Just because they could release it now doesn't mean they will. These guys know what they're doing (from a business standpoint) and will stagger that release when nothing else is generating buzz.

Think about it - despite the very few shows are scheduled for this year, we've all managed to stay glued to any band news and making purchases for RRHOF, RSD, mystery boxes, festival dates, etc. If everything was announced at once, our wallets couldn't handle it. Spread all these purchases over 6 months, and I'm sure all of us could afford more things... I'm looking at you, Euro tour mystery box items sitting in my office.

I know that doesn't give anyone the answer they want, but I don't see any Wrigley stuff coming out til after the summer when the RRHOF glow and EV shows/festival dates die down.

(I'm also hoping for a $500 super deluxe box set including ivy-green vinyl, blu ray, signed baseball, band bobbleheads and a ton of other random items sealed in a Wrigley Field-shaped box.)

Could be licensing red tape going on, too.  I know we like to think Pearl Jam is the end-all, be-all in hashing things out, but the truth is that legal entities require a lot of legal paper pushing.  And it's not like this is the only thing they're working on that requires legalities be settled.  I'm sure things like the R&RHOF and EV tour take precedence.

Whatever I can tell myself to help me bide the time...

The Rob said flat out they are working on something. He said it will be in video form. They are working on editing and it is coming. It was a couple months ago on Sirius, I think it was the faithful forum? But he was asked point blank and answered best he could without giving details.

When hell freezes over and pigs fly, the day before that happens is my guess.

Also I don't want just a video montage of both nights blended together. If that's all they release that would kinda suck.

I'm assuming that's what they're doing as they had the band where the same clothes each night.

I would guess a compilation movie containing the highlights from both nights.   If they really went all out and included 2 blurays, with each show from each night, that would be amazing, but it's not something I expect from PJ :)

Wrigley as the main Blu-ray,  Fenway 2 as the bonus-disc, and Touring band 2016 for the collector edition. Vote Tristelune lol.

I'm ok with a video montage of the weekend... as long as they include music CD's of each show in full.

They'll mix the shows. Otherwise one really drunk guy will be immortalized in HD for Wrigley 2's interruption.

I'd be ok with that. I just fear it will be the video and that's all. I want the full boots of each night more than anything else. Especially since I sat in a shit section night one and would really like to be able to listen to it and enjoy myself instead of trying to hear the show while dealing with dumb drunken evenbros for three hours.

We had a fun section night one, but night two was a bunch of lame suckers that came for the hits. They sat the whole show until the popular songs came on, then jumped up and just kinda bobbed along, then promptly sat down after the song ended. I felt bad slightly for standing up 90% of the show since people were glued to their seats behind us, but I paid my money and I'll stand if I wanna!

Not only was my section glued to their seats unless a "hit" came on but they more interested in their beer runs than the show. I knew I was alone when I was the only one to not only recognize Masters of War but be excited for it. By the second encore I was all done with having to interrupt my viewing/enjoying the show to move so those drunken douches could go and get more beer. Night two was way way better.

Pretty much my section night two...when the first note of Oceans rang out, I got pretty excited and a lot of people around me looked confused
