    The Beast Within

1982 horror film "loosely" based on the book of the same name. It was ok, had its moments.

This tagline makes its sound more terrifying than it was when I saw it on IFC years ago back when they played good movies:

"We dare you to watch the last 30 minutes of this film without screaming, covering your eyes, or running from your seat!"

Werewolf transformation scene and beheading near the end were cool effects though.

yeah that part was pretty cool. Although he didn't really transform into a werewolf. more just like a monster/creature

Well done under the radar FBI vs white supremacists thriller.
Kind of scary to think that it was based on a true story and real people.

    Split

I liked it a fair bit. Interesting concept, some good acting, and I thought the very ending was a fun and intriguing surprise. It was actually one of the most unexpected endings ever - came right out of left field... but makes perfect sense.

Hostel 1: some gory scenes, but the plot had me thinking afterwards.

I really like Hostel 1 and 2. Actually, 2 is better than 1 IMO. Hostel 3 is stupid (is there a Hostel 4?).

I think 2 is better as well, especially the ending. Still have to watch 3.. if i remember correctly Eli Roth didnt direct the third? I wonder if that affected it.

Correct, Roth didn't direct 3. He does have a writing credit for some of the characters, but he did not write any of the screenplay nor have any part of the direction or production. It was awful. There is no Hostel 4 but Eli threw the idea around about a year and a half ago to take the franchise back.
