40, the night PJ played "Alive" live on SNL. And, dang, that was a long time ago!

Such a fantastic performance. One of the performances that made me a fan.

My older brother's band, like every other small band at that time, was already covering Jeremy and Alive in 92 or so. Probably heard them before I actually heard PJ. They started playing Daughter at some point, as well. I was just starting drum lessons. Got the Ten CD and booklet and learned the whole thing. What really hooked me was seeing the 94 SNL performance. VS joined the rotation. By Vitalogy, that was it!

I remember seeing the 94 performance live, which got me hooked, but didn't actually catch 92 until I saw a replay of SNL on Comedy Central in 98 in my dorm room. I was blown away all over again.
    It's a hopeless situation...

I know I heard Nirvana before Christmas '91. They were the first band I heard from the Seattle era. It had to be shortly after that. I saw PJ at lolla '92 but I don't think I owned Ten yet, but I knew the some of the songs. So I would peg it at Winter/Spring '92.

When I was a baby my dad would put on Better Man and Last Kiss for me to listen too. I was absolutely obsessed with Last Kiss until i was about 7. Now ten years later I'm in the ten club, have seen 3 shows and am still madly in love with my favorite band!

    Very sweet!

I was 17/18 when I first heard pj in high school. My daughter could have written the above post as she's a huge fan now herself. She was deeply contemplating the awesomeness of In My Tree yesterday after she insisted to go for a drive by herself with MY car bc it has better speakers.

Probably 9-10 when I first heard them, but was about 13 when I became a big fan.
My older brother for years tried to get me to listen to good music I had a tape cassette of Johnnie B Good and Poison's Flesh n Blood and that was literally the only thing I played over and over and my brother would get so sick of it., I remember him playing Daughter and others from vs. For some reason Betterman was the one that opened up my eyes. Then my brother would get mad when I'd sneak into his room and spin Vit (we spun vinyl 20 years before it was cool to do so).
I don't think I've listened to Flesh n Blood since....

Freshman year of college, the fall of '91. A buddy played the album for me, which coincided with seeing the Alive video on MTV and being imprinted by the fearless lead singer swinging from the rafters wearing a Jordan jersey. Twenty five six years later I'm still mesmerized by their music
