I doubt we hear from him. I understand the presidential decorum he wants to respect- but these are desperate times.

Too much class. It's tradition that the former doesn't criticize the present. It's going to have to be a groundswell by the people. A large swath of the country wanted this afterall. Folks like godfather.

    Banning and bombing!

    U.S. Dropped 26,171 Bombs on 7 Muslim-Majority Countries in 2016
President Obama's last year in office was marked by heavy bombing in the Middle East and South Asia.

    http://www.alternet.org/grayzone-project/us-dropped-26171-bombs-7-muslim-countries-2016

Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, and Pakistan were the countries targeted by U.S. airstrikes. 2016 saw an increase in bombing since 2015, when the U.S. dropped at least 23,144 bombs on six Muslim-majority countries (Libya was the seventh country bombed in 2016).

You know what I really love about Obama not being president anymore? He is no longer constrained by his office. Now that he's no longer president, he can say and do whatever he wants without political ramifications. And he is still so young with many years left to have a tremendous impact on this country.

And even though he could say & do whatever, he'd still present himself with the class and elegance he exhibited his 8 years in office.
And probably wouldn't point to the first two letters of my screen name.
He'd probably call you out on your bullshit, he'd just do it more eloquently than I can. I won't deny the fact that I'm brash. I own my shit.

Not bad considering he just left office.

Barack Obama Ranked 12th Best U.S. President Ever in Major Survey of Historians

TIME - Barack Obama has been whisked to a very good table at the club of former presidents, according to a C-SPAN survey of 91 presidential historians published on Friday. Obama’s 12th-place ranking only a month after leaving office is the best for any president since Ronald Reagan, who ranks ninth in the new survey. The list updates previous C-SPAN surveys compiled in 2009 and 2000.

Historians gave Obama high marks for pursuing equality, managing the economy, public persuasion and “moral authority.” On the other hand, he was judged to have been below-average in handling international relations. Overall, he placed ahead of such generally well-regarded chief executives as James Monroe and James Polk.

History’s view of the best and worst presidents was unchanged since 2009. The top spot once again went to Abraham Lincoln — the quintessential self-made man who saved the Union, emancipated the slaves, and launched the Transcontinental Railroad. He ranked no lower than fourth in all ten of the criteria by which presidents were judged. He finished first in crisis leadership, administrative skill, vision setting, and pursuit of equal justice; second in economic management, moral authority, and “performance within the context of the times”; third in public persuasion and international relations; and fourth in working with Congress.

Lincoln was followed by George Washington, with the two Roosevelts — Franklin and Theodore — in third and fourth place. The bottom spots went to the men who served just before and just after Lincoln: James Buchanan and Andrew Johnson.

“Once again the Big Three are Lincoln, Washington and FDR — as it should be,” said one of the shepherds of the survey, Douglas Brinkley of Rice University in Houston. “That Obama came in at number 12 his first time out is quite impressive,” Brinkley added.

Obama preserved evidence related to Trump's ties to Russian hacking of Hillary's email server and interference with our electoral process. He could have "leaked" information that may have helped Hillary and harmed trump. But he didn't. Why? Because it would have totally politicized the direct threat to our democracy and been seen as a partisan witch hunt by sore losers and dismissed and eventually swept under the carpet. Instead, he took the high road, realizing our democracy is bigger and more valuable than any one president or candidate and that the truth will come out and our democracy will continue to flourish as intended. Obama's last acts in this regard show just how moral, ethical, thoughtful and disciplined he was. He will be missed. As a result and in comparison, the republican Congress look like the ameratures they are, immoral, unethical, undisciplined and partisan to the core. 2018 can't come soon enough.

Follow the money like Congress minus Cruz, from Russia with love, impeach Trump.

How do all these polls (and the GOP and its followers) CONTINUE to suckle at the Reagan teet? His terrible economic policies are what lead us to where we are today. How can someone like that be considered a top 10 President???

The intense love for Reagan baffles me as well. Could you imagine what would be said today about a Republican who shared policy thoughts similar to Reagan in today's political world? He'd be called a RINO, soft on Russia, and worse. Aside from the trickle down economics the GOP still bears off to today- there's really no clear line to the love of Reagan. For crying out loud the man should have been impeached over Iran Contra. How does that get someone in the top 10? If he's top 10, we need to raise the bar on who we elect...and we're proving to be pretty terrible at who we elect sometimes.

I am seeing this all over the place......you have trump supporters saying they voted for him, but at the same time, also saying "liberal hate/elitism and Obama are the reason you have Trump-you have no one to blame but yourselves". in essence, insulting the very candidate they supposedly support. it's bizarre.

It's like part of their brain realizes trump is a mistake, but they refuse responsibilty for their choice. Some will also forever hold on to "Clinton still would've been worse", which is a thought that logically can't be disproven since we don't have a Hillary presidency to compare trump to.

They are starting to come to realization that it wasn't Hillary who lost the election.

    It was America who lost.

If only someone would have warned them what a disaster a Trump presidency would be.
