start out even-steven
some years go by
you're innocent no longer
every empty bottle
each war-color haunts your bones
you are at fault

it's been a big trick
they laugh
the far off hills
where up close shadows dwell
echoes reverb tearing us each in two

they show up for a drink
one has been dead awhile
still friends together
it is love
but a deep trench falls away underneath
not a rainbow to have shine
none are the right
gone are wrongs

fires fresh
fires older
it's the eyes still
they work

glasses filled
glasses drank from
floating kitchen table & chairs
they came to call
the unlost tides wash us clean

there was no doorbell
nor knock
all of a sudden we were happening
like 15,000 times before this one
which did not ever take place in person

it is wind
a blowing forest of you
ripples across all waters our own flesh
we make smiles each other
make smiles each other
smiles each other
each other
other
smiles

it's simply candle's music
then blown out

"Hear me, my chiefs!
I am tired; my heart is
sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
no more forever."
