Someone posted on Twitter a few minutes ago that there's a "surprise" guest on stage tonight and two singers. Hmmm.......wonder who that might be?

One would think there must be a way to release these shows, right? Covers or not, it's 2016, there must be a way, money is to be made which could be used for great causes. These shows have been too special not to be shared and re-lived!

    No setlist?
  • Is there now a "no talking about the setlist" rule around here that I missed?

I'm not the best at remembering stuff but I think SF 1 setlist was same as Philly 2/MSG, and SF2 was similar except they didn't play Quicksand and did Hey Baby (Hendrix cover) and Holy Holy (Bowie) cover. I thought Holy Holy was a much better suited cover for Cornell's voice than Quicksand. Hey Baby was incredible, Cornell said it was an obscure Hendrix song that he hadn't heard of before and I think he said it was Matt who had suggested it for the Stone Free tribute album. Or maybe it was Mike.

Both shows were incredible but I felt like night 2 elevated to a whole other level. Can't deny that GA brings out the best energy in the crowd which then in turn feeds the band. Still feeling the post show high!

Wait, how come SF shows only get one thread?
  • darthvedderdarthvedder Posts: 2,465
Amazing two shows...took me back to when I was 16 and music was new and exciting. Having seen Matt drum in both Soundgarden and TOTD, I realize that he's being wasted in Pearl Jam as they don't know how to use him properly. When it comes time to write the next Pearl Jam album, they need to lock Eddie up and only let him free if he agrees to write lyrics for the new album only. Stone needs to unleash his riffs upon the world once again.

What a fun time it was in San Francisco. Great shows, the band was on fire and it all made me feel like I was when I was 16. Nice song selection and covers were appropriate for the show.

Crowd was great and it was just fun overall. Thank you TOTD for making me feel like a teenager again with the fun music and times.

Please PM me if there are good recordings of these shows out there!
  • night one at the bill graham was sooo good! War Pigs was amazing but the highlight for me was crown of thorns. I think that's the only time they played it so far? fitting that we would get it in SF junkietown. bet they get it in seattle too.
  • oops my bad, no they didn't (play crown of thorns). I was confusing it for times of trouble

Went to night two. Loved the show. Your Saviour and Seasons were highlights for me. Also really dug the Hendrix and Zep covers.

Smoked out a couple of guys from Texas while in line. My daughter was convinced one of them was some country music star.

  • What time did they hit the stage? I have to race over there tonight from work and don't want to miss a thing from TOTD.

I went back on Saturday night to pick my brains up off the floor. Stuffed them all back into the right place and then....BOOM....crazy Times of Trouble just blew my brains back out again. What a hot mess.

Saw both shows, flew over to the UK. Highlights for me were "River of Deceit", "Stargazer", "Pushin Forward Back " and "War Pigs".
The whole band were in top form, Cornells's voice is as amazing as it was the first time I saw him in 92. Chris also mentioned the whole band would like to try to make touring a more regular thing, so fans could get tickets easier.

Completely forgot about that MACC one-off they did. Great call, I remember stumbling onto that back in the Napster days. Bet it sounded awesome!

what have the set times been?
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”
