Thoroughly enjoyed it. Band was tight. Unfortunately many in my non 10c section were talking about Ed, screaming for him, complaining he wasn't there much of the night. Seemed like a few even thought he was part of the show. Distracting listening to that. Hopefully other sections didn't experience this.

First off I just wanna say thank you to the 10c for my tickets. I was in section 119, Row 22, seats 1 and 2. Second off I had an amazing ticket buddy in Josevolution. Third off I'm still speechless at what I just witnessed. Wow just wow

This band must have practiced a ton because they were tight. My favorite stuff was the MLB stuff, along with Reach Down and Say Hello 2 Heaven. So happy to have been close to the stage but I'm sure I would have loved it even from the last row. This was magical and I'm so happy they decided to celebrate their 25th as well. 2016 was very special and this was a great way to cap it off. Here's to 2017 and the rock and roll hall of fame!

Great great show. So happy i went. They really seemed to be having a great time up there. After they played Achilles Last Stand, which was incredible, Chris Cornell started laughing and said something to the effect of "if someone told me I'd be on stage at madison square garden playing Achilles Last Stand with four of my friends, i'd have said they were crazy"

War Pigs and Fascination Street were also highlights. Cornell joked, after ending the first set with Fascination Street by the Cure and War Pigs by Sabbath, "now we are going to play some Joy Division followed by Slayer!" Sadly, he didn't! Mike McCready really tore it up on the sabbath. Loved the Mad Season and Times of Trouble was really strong .

my two favorites were songs I never heard before. The cover of Jump into the Fire by Harry Nilsson was so great people were asking each other what song it was. None of us knew lol. The second was "missing" - Cornell said it was one of the Singles songs or something - I don't really know, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I really hope that they release a recording of this show.

Obviously, as everyone else already mentioned, War Pigs and Achilles covers were just beyond fucking phenomenal.

I also loved the simple stage set up. I didn't love that there was no screen, because I know what it's like to be in a seat where you need the screen to see the stage at all. I was lucky to be in a great seat with a great view, so I didn't need it, but I am sure my vertically challenged sisters on the floor were missing one.

I wouldn't hate a new TOTD album. Followed by tour. At ALL.

Great in its own way. I always think 18,000+ people singing together is pretty powerful. Although, I went to Philly for the first show and that spoiled me a bit intimacy-wise, which was the perfect setting for TOTD since they are a slow-ish band. Band sounded great tonight and mix was great except CC's mic could've been a notch louder a few times, at least from the 100s. Not sure bout other levels. Just happy to witness history

I thought this was a fun show, the band looked to be enjoying everything from the songs to Cornell's comments. The one downside was the shirtless drunk guy who kept shouting Chris fuckin Cornell for two hours straight at the top of his lungs.

I think we need no further proof that Matt Cameron is one of the greatest drummers. He shined tonight on all the technical stuff. MM is a beast as usual. Stone grooving more than I've seen in years. Jeffs bassline on the cure cover, cornel absolutely nailing shit all night. Wow. Great show. More than I ever expected.

    Highlights
    Say Hello
    Reach down (absolutely epic)
    Achllies last Stand
    River of Deceit (beautiful)
    War Pigs
    Stardog champion
    Seasons

Not that these guys don't rip it up in PJ, but this showcased a whole other side of musicianship and made me so proud to see our band on stage ripping up difficult songs like Achillies. What a great night and a perfect way to cap off a monumental year of shows. Thanks!

    yeah that was awesome!

i avoided here and basically any music site because i wanted to be surprised by who else theyd play and boy was i surprised. the totd stuff was incredible, i love that they opened w say hello, quite fitting. and i kept saying to myself how great and tight they sounded and i had to be like "duh, its pearl jam's musicians and these guys play together all the time". they had such a different energy last night, was incredible. cornells voice, i dont know how he does it still after all these years, but that thing is a national treasure. ok back to the covers tho..

river of deceit- i fell in love with this album it what 95,96 was it and to hear this song live, there are few groupings of musicians on the planet that i feel could do this song justice, and they did, a treat.

never in a million years did i think id hear fascination street- that is such a great song, and i saw it at msg just 4 months ago, so it was fun to relive bit of that amazing night

jump into the fire- such a great song to pull out, lcd soundsystem cover it and i saw them do it at their "last ever" concert in '11 at msg. and who doesnt hear this song and immediately think theres helicopters following them driving guns around town (goodfellas reference)

war pigs- again saw this in feb at the garden with blck sabbath and they absolutely smoked it last night. i bet the "eddie whiners" forgot he wasnt there for those 4 minutes or whatever.

achilles - are you kidding me? every band covers lz but very few can pull it off- that was another gem in a night full of them.

it was a priviledge to see them at msg, and i love that they went full round seating, but it must have been a huge treat to see some of these smaller shows, that energy must be off the charts. wish philly was after nyc, id go see another one of these.

luckily i didnt sit near any eddie whiners but holy crap at the bar before people were going nuts, CONVINCED he would show up. peopel were betting on it, ugh. at first i tried to temper peoples expectations so they can enjoy this amazing show, but then i jsut said fuck it, theres no hope trying to help these people. hope they let go and enjoyed it. i like how they played hunger strike early enough to get people's minds off the notion.

anyway GREAT show.. as was said above, what a 2016!

I was thinking the same thing -- they just seemed to genuinely be having the best time up there. It was really enjoyable to see them getting so into it. Especially STONE!!!!
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!

Great show last night! I really enjoyed river of deceit, achilles last stand, war pigs, seasons, and reach down. I never saw cornell live before and I must say, the man can sing!!
The "backing" band was having the time of their lives; I've never seen stone so animated before. Matt is a beast, jeff was grooving all night and Mike just completely nailed every song.
I thought the way they ended the show was kind of odd, it was very anti climatic to me. I wasn't a fan of the cure or david bowie song, but the rest were brilliant. The crowd was solid throughout the show and to top it all off I finally met the legendary svrdhand13 (joe!) for a few minutes after the show. Somehow I made my train bud!

Awesome show, Loved every second....well not really. I fuckin missed SAY HELLO TO HEAVEN....was on long Merch line, seemed a lil early to go on.

Regardless it was so cool seeing what started 25 plus years ago come to fruition. Great Mix of songs, interesting covers for sure. War Pigs was stellar. Met some fun people tonight.

Had seats behind the stage and it was great. Had behind the stage for PJ Denver....and its growing on me to be there.

  • Great show. The band was very tight. Kudos to the sound guys, the mix was perfect. Stone was way up which was really pleasant, he's a great lead guitarist who gets drowned out sometimes at PJ shows. The TOTD songs as well as the covers also gave some space for Matt/Jeff/Mike to do their thing. Whole show just sounded so heavy start to finish. Stone's leads on "Your Savior" and "Seasons" were my favorite parts. Very refreshing to see these guys playing different material so well. They seemed energized by not having to roll out the PJ or SG standards.

The band was brilliant. Truly. I can't add much to what's already been said. This was a highlight of my life to see this show. A record I've loved since I was 15, I got to see played last night at 40. Thanks to the Ten Club for the amazing seats. Best fan club ever.

And I do have to say one thing about PJ fans. I know TONS of normal, nice ones. The few that sat around me last night screaming Eddie's name can fuck off forever. So dumb.

Comments above pretty much sum it up - what a great time! Icing on the cake after the 2 PJ shows at MSG earlier in the year. While it would have been fun, kinda cool that EV was not there and the focus was 100% on the core band. I wouldn't have complained if he did show of course. The band sounded great on every song.
